Aftermarket Handlebar Switches

I'll see if I can pull it out and snap a better pic tomorrow. That pic is from an eBay listing for a full harness.

Just how many different size and style connectors are on the bike is hilarious. I suppose every connector being different makes it impossible to plug something in wrong, but damn.

I was looking at getting myself a late Christmas present for use in the 2023 riding season and have been considering aftermarket switchgear for quite sometime. The stock stuff is pretty flimsy and I'm constantly hitting the highbeam lever on accident. Plus, it would be nice to have something durable in case of a slide. I'm mainly looking at Jetprime but looking to get some feedback on what others have tried. I was thinking about getting the 7-button left since my bike does see some street time along with the right 3-button throttle housing.

Not that I'm out braking the stock setup, but is there any reason why the JP throttle housing with the buttons wouldn't work with a RCS master or the like should I decide to upgrade that?

I was thinking about going with this style for the right side...

Since I'd have the option of adding the JetPrime cable throttle if I wanted. I was considering clip-ons too, but I wanted to get the bar forward for the forks so I have room between my knees and elbows in a tuck. I have no room with the OEM, but moving the bars to the rear would be worse.

Clip-ons don't necessarily move the bars back, they usually allow adjustability around the fork +/-.

I believe Spider even makes a set that extends the base of the bars forward of the stock position. That would give you more room.

Depends on the clip-ons. Look at the DB ones he pictured, and the bars are more to the middle of the fork.

I think this is the exact one he has pictured.

The second is forward and up.

I used Resintech 125 epoxy on all the terminations.
When everyone brings up aftermarket switches they speak to the serviceability. If everything is filled with epoxy, how could you service it? I mean, outside of milling it all out, are there methods to break down Resintech 125? No doubt they more tough.

You throw it away. I’m rebuilding a factory Corse V4 injector harness for a member that has all of the injectors soldered and epoxy filled. I am installing reusable connectors and new injectors. The old injectors, trash can. I use connectors on everything but do seal the wire terminations.
