AGV Announces PISTAGP Helmet

I'm surprised to hear that, but I have never owned one (only Bell and Shoei). The few that I have handled and tried on seemed really, really high quality and made my helmets look like junk (so I thought). Then again, I have been wearing my primary Shoei almost daily for about 5 years and am still on the original liners and pads so maybe I'll stick with what works.

I've been waiting for this helmet to come to market for a while now I have it as my desktop background, that's just how bad I want it. While I was waiting
I ended up buying the Bell Star Carbon Cerwinske with self tinting visor for a killer deal during Black Friday.

But alas the Pista is here but sold out on championhelmets, they have the Elements Corsa helmet available but I'm going for the Pista LE. The graphics don't bother me one bit since I'm really a tech geek.

I can understand the reservations some of you guys have about ordering one of these right now. I can only suggest waiting for the Corsa, or until the Pista is available in the US. I haven't ridden with the helmet yet, but I've put it on a few times, and the headband thing doesn't bother me yet. It seems to go right into place when you put on the helmet without much undue attention paid to it. I stupidly didn't order a tinted screen with the helmet, and now to order one would add 35 Euro in shipping costs. So I guess I'll wait until April when I'm in Germany, there's a Dainese store right where I'll be, and pick one up there with no shipping costs.

@youngR, really sorry to hear that piece broke on yours, and thanks for the heads up. I will try to be extra, extra careful when taking out the padding. And yes, I'm Army too, headed to Stuttgart. Autobahn and Nurburgring here I come! Are you around Bragg? Also, were you able to remove that headband thing?

If possible can you provide a head on shot, so we can get a real feel of what the forehead really looks like. Also would you happen to know if the Corsa visor screen with fit the GP? Cause championhelmets has the visors back in stock.

Does ANYONE know when AGV is coming out with more helmets here in the US? I really wanted a GP-Tech in black, no graphic, but everywhere I look they've sold out of my size.....so frustrating.

Tried the Pista GP and Corse last weekend.

Completely different fit between the 2.

Pista fitted like a glove in L, needed an XL in the Corse.

Corse is noticeably heavier, Pista is feather weight.

Vertical field of vision is amazing.

Project 46 looks better in the flesh than pics.

Dealer sold my L and put the other on display, so no purchase at this time

so are you saying US DOT version is out in USA? I thought they were suppose to be here Fall/Winter time frame?

Well then this info is no good to USA since spec will change regardless to a degree. :(

True, but then I never said anything about US spec.

This was a thread I started, so just my opinion.

Xbox, I know some people like to attack OP but I wasnt. Sorry if it sounded that way.

I do have the Euro Pista but was awaiting on US version to see the difference. :)

I took delivery of mine last week
And I have to say it is stunning both in fit and field of view.
I would say my Arai RX 7 GP-C is a cooler helmet to run at lower speeds and the visor
Easier to operate however I now have the hang of the AGV's quirky opening
System and have to say its a bargain. Just need to send it off and get rid of the .....
Decals and turn it back to plain :)

The pista is an amazing helmet, I had the GP tech and the pista is a huge step forward. Field of vision is amazing, feels extremely light, moves through air amazing, and great airflow. Great investment, I absolutely love the helmet, looking at buying another
I've also had shoei x-12 and a arai corsair V like the pista a lot more than either

I also got the pistaGP, no issues at all with the headband. It holds my hair from falling in between the helmet and my forehead so I even find it quite a nice feature.

The Corsa visors and the Pista visors are identical, and before I ordered the helmet + silver visor I also checked with the guys at championhelmets and the answer was yes corsa and pista have the same visors (the guys at championhelmets indeed have a good customer service)

only bad thing about the pistagp is noise
