Hi All , Has anyone opened the airbox of a 22 model panigale with it mounted on the bike. I am trying to and am blown away by the amount of wiring to be removed . Any help on how you went about it appreciated. The manual I have shows it out of the bike .

Removing the airbox from a 2022 Ducati Panigale V4 without dismounting the engine is indeed a challenging task due to the intricate wiring and tight spaces. While the official service manual often depicts this procedure with the engine removed, some enthusiasts have managed to perform the removal with the engine in place.

One such example is detailed in a forum post where the user "Jrkk" describes their experience with a V4 model. They mention that although accessing the front cylinder is possible with the radiator and fans removed, removing the front frame provides additional workspace. The process involves supporting the engine with a jack, removing the top triple clamp, loosening and sliding off the handlebars (securing them atop the airbox with cable ties), disconnecting the ignition switch connectors, and finally, removing the four main bolts attaching the frame to the engine. This approach offers better access to the airbox without completely dismounting the engine.

For a visual guide, there's a teardown video that, although not a step-by-step tutorial, showcases the process of disassembling a Ducati V4, including the airbox removal. This might provide you with a clearer understanding of the procedure and the components involved.

Given the complexity and the potential for extensive disassembly, it's crucial to document each step meticulously, label all connectors, and consider taking photos during the process to ensure accurate reassembly. If you're uncertain or uncomfortable with this level of disassembly, consulting with a professional technician or reaching out to a Ducati service center is advisable.

Are you looking to just remove the upper portion of the airbox? Or the lower half as well?
