i like my sprint filter
Was it free?
Not trying to be a hater, but if you're going to pay for a high performance filter, than you should buy an actual high performance filter...
i like my sprint filter
I wonder how many people have clogged air filters. My dealer always ticks inspected/cleaned but It clearly hasn't been, stilll leaves & bugs in there & end up doing it myself. I went with a BMC filter (similar/same as K&N I think), has anyone done a direct comparison with the MWR filter? Might look at it for the 1299.
my previous tech told me once, that the imbalance was required, but i forgot for what and what the benefits could be... I think as long as they're not firing at the same time, there is no disadvantage. except less power ...
i love my MWR filter!
Guys, I have the new MWR WSBK fitted on my bike and will be running it at PBIR this weekend. I will also have the bike dynoed at the Cycle Gear Orlando Bike night on the Feb. 20th. The bad thing is I wont have a before and after comparison. I had the HE MWR air filter in my bike for over 6k miles, so I should be able to give you a seat of the pants on how the bike feels. Also, PBIR has a pretty long straight away where bike easily sees 180mph +. Ive seen 183mph once or twice. I expect to see --- now. I'll make sure to get some video and impressions of the new MWR WSBK air filter. I'm sure the results will be positive as the HE gave excellent results.
As far as cleaning, I dont care if you are street riding or track, there is no excuse for not doing regular maintenance. I'm lucky enough to have a sponsor(Cycle Pro/RapidBike) that makes sure they check over the bike before my race/track day weekends, but you need to look over your bikes. Cleaning the air filters is very important. We check my filter before every track day/race weekend. For the street, I would do every 1000 miles, at least checking it. On the race bike, with the Sharkskinz, you can use a flash light and look right up the air intake. Like Randy said, it only takes a few minutes to check the filter.

I agree with everything you say. I have the same filter and posted about a month ago when I fitted it. The problem for me is that I found it a two man job. It is quick if you have a friend with you to help lift the tank while someone unclips the fuel line. Also try to time it with an almost empty tank.
The new wsbk filter doesn't seem to have the plate that was supposed to redirect the air flow, does it??
