2014 1199R

Can the valve be totally removed and the plug left disconnected or will that throw a code?

Thx in advance, Don

My 14R has 2 MAP sensors. Both are on the left side of the bike. One fore one aft the voltage regulator

I am sealing up the airbox and building a true ram air system. Routing the crank case breather elsewhere etc. I could leave the air injection valve there and plugged in and put caps where both hoses attach but would rather remove it entirely and plug the hole in the airbox

It’s just 2 wires. Could put a resistor in series if need be. Anyone know what happens if this connector is left unplugged?

I soldered resistors in place of the pair valve sensors before running the Woolich stuff now there is nothing plugged in since I all that crap is deactivated.

Nice!

22 ohm 5%?

Do you know any of the values for doing same sorta thing elsewhere? Kickstand and forks in particular

Thanks sooooo much

I did try to mess with a kickstand switch delete but it was a different resistor and I never really put much effort into it and just left it alone. I have the standard Panigale R forks that are not electronic.

It was a 1 watt Carbon Film Resistor, 22 Ohm. I got a pack of 5 from Amazon.

This is the plug.
I just crimped the resistor into the terminals and plugged it in. I then threw some electrical tape over the end and a small band of heat shrink to cover the exposed resistor.
The company I went through is out of Japan so shipping is about a week and a half. he also has a $25.00 minimum order. I'm sure you could source it from someplace a bit closer though.

Yeah I stuffed the largest resistor on the end of the plug it worked fine but now nothing is there. The kickstand plug I am running is a BSD one they work fine but you can make one it is actually a diode within the plug should read close to 500ohms.

That's what it looked like when I was done. Not super pretty but it worked.

Thanks so much for all that info. Really appreciate it: )
Yeah, I’m jealous of most of the changes to the newer R (especially the ecu, mechanical suspension, sick ass crankshaft, and the compression ratio getting bumped by 7 points). But what am I gonna do? The insurance company offered me the bike back for 3300 n I couldn’t say no. I’ll prolly grenade the motor anyways and that will be the next project ; )

Thx again

Thought a diode was like a check valve for electrical current? They are resister too? And how do I know which way the current is posed to go?

When the kickstand is raised or lowered no switch gets open or closed. Somehow that sensor thing knows that tab is there or not. Even with a pretty good gap. It’s trippy. Prolly just buy BSD and start new thread re the forks. Thx

Yeah its a diode connected to 2 pins on the BSD plug. The stock sensor has a 3rd wire probably a ground but not 100% on that so either way best to get the BSD plug or use the stock sensor. If you try bypassing without the BSD plug the 5v circuit is super sensitive to stuff so can lead to shifter issues, sensors etc.

Does anyone know or can they measure the pipe diameter at the AIS valve or the receiving end? I'm looking to get 4 caps to plug the heads and valve but would rather not pull the bike apart to measure then reassemble to ride out to the store then pull it apart again.

The diameter needs to be from the smallest part of the valve port or the pipe off the cylinder head.

Thanks

The kit I bought (off ebay, from Britain)was made by smart moto and came with a plug to use inside the airbox,an electrical plug for the end of the removed ais valve wiring and 2 very nicely finished plain aluminium covers for the cylinder heads. It was not that bad a job in removing all of the ais system. My hand/fingers hurt for an hour afterwards.
