Akrapovic Exhaust install Ahhhhhh

Well guys on the final assembly i screwed up big, where the ABS control unit sits. The housing (in this case) the allen screw got stripped, I've tried a couple ways and no luck. This sucks because it goes directly into the motor

Have you stripped the thread out of the engine? If so, not the end of the World. You'll need to order a helicoil kit (or similar) to rethread the hole.

As long as you have room to bore straight into the stripped hole, you can helicoil it or timesert it.

If it's the allen fastener that is stripped, look at some easy-outs (screw extractor sets, Speedouts, etc.). Vermont, Irwin, Speedout, Bosch, Hanson are some brands. If it is a tight application you may be able to find (or fabricate) a right angled version. If the allen isn't too damaged, I find using Torx or other allen sizes (metric and standard) can sometimes help.

If it's the threads into the engine that are stripped, the above recommendations for Heli-Coil type of repairs is pretty doable. Not sure if it is a blind hole or a thru-hole (and where that thru-hole goes). Let us know, I'm assuming it is blind for now. Hopefully it's easy to get to so you have clearance without pulling a bunch of stuff apart.

Let us know more details if you can, that way we can provide more detailed ideas for you.

So it's just head that got rounded, nothing else got messed up. I tried the torx bit and no luck. I'll have to try that speedout thing. Cuz that bolt has locktite on it so it makes it ten times harder to get out.

Heatgun is your bff with locktite, I just discovered screw grab lubricant to use on the Allen or Phillips head that really helps it grab.

Use a heat gun or even a high watt soldering iron on it. Now here’s a pro tip...... put valve grinding paste in the hole and wiggle in the Allen key, if it’s not too ...... then you will get it out

So, update guys. I had to bring the bike to the dealership for them to get the bolt out. I tried everything and no luck. Good news is they got the bolt out and im going to be hopefully finishing up the bike on Saturday. I work tomorrow. Got to love 24 hour shifts. but i have 48 hours to finish the job. Ill keep you guys updated.

How the heck did they get it out? Some heat treatment???

Bro they used some crazy ... tools and took him like 1 min. My jaw just dropped and I was like okay. Lol

But just got home from work and getting ready to finish this bike today.
