Anyone here had the akro installed? If you don’t mind sharing, how much was it all in? I k now it retails for about $5,400 plus labor which is close to 1k.

Local dealer is having a special and not sure if it is a good price.

Many people love it and others don’t think it is worth the money and, honestly, paying around 4k for an exhaust is quite expensive, but then again these are Ducatis.

My dealer wanted $1k to install it. They had a discount on accessories if you bought a bike with them which was pretty substantial. About 10% IIRC. But, put sales tax on top of that and its almost a wash.

The best price I saw online was $4350 and since it was in California, no sales tax. You could still have to buy the lower fairings, which are a little under $300. I don't know if the dealer includes this in their price.

I installed one on a Streetfighter V4 and it wasn't that bad. I'm contemplating it for the Panigale V4S, but we just bought a house and that $4350 is a big nut to crack right now.

I was quoted $4,800, but that doesn’t include tax. You said the lower fairing needs to be purchased? On the V2? I thought the bike was designed to take the akro system with no fairing changes.

Yeah my only issue is why not just upgrade to a V4 if you are going to spend 5k on an exhaust for a V2. Don’t get me wrong, I love my V2, but damn that’s expensive. So, I go back and forth on it.

I payed 4800 for mine and 560 to install.

I tell you this, I wouldn't settle on a slip-on. If you are going for it, go for it all the way. I see what you mean on stepping up to a V4, but I wouldn't look at it as a step up, maybe more of a lateral move.

For most practical purposes a V2 is a better bike. I'm sure the exhaust is very similar to the 1199 and that install was much easier than the V4, should you want to save some money.

I think YouTube videos don’t do It justice, but anyone know how the full akro exhaust sounds when compared to the throtty v4?

It's an 899 with Termi, but if you want to hear a twin with an exhaust that's recorded well, here you go. He has good comments on the 899, but skip to 3:52 for the money shot.

Meh on full system. Save yourself the scratch and time getting into the headers. Sure it might lighten the bike but it’ll lighten your wallet more. Go w the slip on and install it yourself. It’s not too bad. A little frustrating w the wonky engineering that’ll leave you scratching your head and cursing Luigi. But the OEM pipe diameter is not much different than the ti full system and no gains in flow. Also the Ducati Tri-Options bikes just do slip-on so if it’s good enough for them then it’s good enough for me.

Really? Didn’t know tri options just did the slip on. Any reason why?

Is it possible that this exhaust and install will lower in time? I just can’t fathom the money around it.

It’s time consuming but not particularly difficult. You could do it yourself but you have to workout with the dealership flashing it after or workout a tune option yourself.

I am trying to do the math here. The full system, I haven’t seen it cheaper than $5k. Dealer will do it all for $4800. Still seems high to me for a motorcycle exhaust. For flashing, I would have to check out some of the tuners I have seen that flash, e.g., bretuning about $700.
So, running those numbers, looks like dealer is best deal thus far, though, for me, I am trying to rationalize 5k.

I’m kind of in the same place. I’d rather do some track days or take a couple of two day classes for that money.

On a side note, I’d go SLR before Bren just off of what I’ve read from other users here.

I found my slip on (new) for $2900 otd but that was for the 959, which was on the way out. I’m not 100% sure whether a 959/1299 Akra slip on would fit a V2 but they look very similar.

I got the full system for $4700 installed and taxes included. Yes, its on the pricey side but the sound & smiles is worth it. Its got a deep, throaty grunt at idle/low rpms but once you hit the high rpms it makes that classic buzzing duc sound which i have come to love.

That is not bad, since it includes taxes. Where are you located, just out of curiosity and how did you swing that price?
