Does it have a color?

Trauma I have no clue what color it is. I haven't removed them yet as I am trying to figure out if its a spline bit as I believe.

Alternator Cover torque anyone? I am about to install the CNC Alternator cover and I cannot seem to find it here or the service manual. And do we use Loctite on the fairing bolts? Thanks in advance.

The short answer is "the one that fits correctly" from your socket set.

This is the second time you have asked one of these very short questions about socket sizes. If you put some context around your question it may help people to answer. Perhaps you do not have any tools and you want to go out and buy the exact one. If that is the case, it is an expensive way of doing it.

No one knows these sizes off the top of their head. Just do like everyone else does and look at the item you want to remove and go to your socket set and try one till you get the right fit.

Looking at the first part I do not know what "frame" you mean. If you spend a few more seconds typing what you are doing it may help.

Re your second question. You need to buy a special tool. There are steel versions and alloy versions. I have the speedymoto steel one. It is about 63mm from memory. This is for the big nuts holding the rear wheel on.

I just checked your question again before hitting the reply button. If you mean the nuts holding the sprocket to the cush drive then it is 14mm. But I just walked out to the garage dug out my OEM nut from storage and grabbed a socket to check. You can do that to.

All I did was copy the torque value from this post as that is what I'm after theres only one area for nut retaining frame to cylinder heads looks like 14mm or maybe 1/2 same goes for rear sprocket nuts.

I already have plenty of quality tools and torque wrenches, problem is mine are lokon 6 sided less chance of rounding bolts.

I still do not know what frame to cylinder head nut you are talking about but I am not looking for it. This answer to my post does not make sense grammatically so I do not understand the paragraph "All I did etc"

I still don't understand why you cannot work out yourself what socket to use on a nut that you can easily get to, like the sprocket nut.

And yes you are welcome. Most people are polite enough to say thanks if someone answers a question for them. 5/16 is not 14mm. There are no imperial sizes on the Ducati.

It's not hard to comprehend there are only 4x nuts holding the frame to the cylinder head for 1199 I was wondering what socket do I need.

And as stated I have bought special socket sets "lokon" they are 6 sided not 12.

14mm socket required. You MUST replace the special toothed washers when you re-mount the frame to the cylinder heads. They come as a "pair" and are a 'use them once only deal'. Once you have applied any torque to them, next stop is the bin (sorry...'trash'). I won't argue with that as I've heard people argue the case to re-use them. Good luck with that if your frame separates from your engine. They are only a few $. Depends how much people value their ass (as you would say)

Im going through the bike going through all the bolts, valve cover bolts loose so wanted to check these frame ones but I can't see it has separated from the cylinder head.

Can I just check they have been torqued down, but if there loose then replace the crush washer and retorque with loctite applied?
