Almost 4,000 miles on my 1299S. Update.

I have now had two rear punctures; I changed to the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres, purely because of my commute miles. I can get up to 2,500 miles out of a DRC, but only about 800 out of the SP. I have run over 100,000 miles on DRC's, between all the bikes I have owned over the last few years, so I know them intimately and they are by far my favorite "every day" tyre.

That's surprisingly low for the SPs. I've just changed out the rear on my '15R at 2,100 miles and that included 2 track days at the sharp end of the inters group. Middle would still be fine for the road but the rh side was destroyed due to track layout. The front is good for at least another 1000 commuting.

Dare say your ambient/tarmac temps over there are a larger factor in rubber degradation compared to the cooler climates here in Scandinavia.

So, count me as a HUGE fan of this bike; basically, it's ... on wheels and has the performance and reliability I wanted as well ... And don't let anyone tell you that it's not a good commute bike, because it does that incredibly well...

I can sign on every word you've written after riding 5'000km in two months on this piece of art (without any issues).

... also, albeit that you will toast your nuts occasionally on days over 85 degrees

Perhaps no the badest for the prostate ;-).

The most amazing thing to me is how comfortable the bike is on longer rides. I've made more than once 500km a day. I really love this expression of pure italian elegance and joie-de-vivre!

Correct on how comfortable it is; my ... and the stock seat, just had to get to know each other a bit better. Now they do, all is well.

GORGEOUS picture by the way!!
