AMA Superbike 2014 - DUCATI!

Perhaps a Mr. Bostrom? Now that the AMA season is so short it might be possible to snatch him up for $30k a race weekend!

Yeah! At least I was right about the first name...

Jake Holden is indeed a talented rider with a great deal of experience in a multitude of AMA classes. Does sound like a real privateer effort with the budget issues they mention - I mean, making your own bodywork? There's tons of people who make bodywork already...

Anyway, I'll be there at Daytona screaming my lungs out for them and I'll be renting some big Canon "L" lenses and posting up pics here in March.

Go TPL Racing/Ducati Omaha/Desmo Veloce! (now that's a mouthful)

Yay! Happy to see TPL and Ducati omaha teaming up! Looking forward to seeing jake ride the wheels off that thing!!

Oh yeah, it's totally privateer, there is no "official" factory support from Ducati for racing in the U.S. other than getting the bike homologated.

P.S. - the bodywork being made is carbon fiber.

That's awesome! I like the part that they will make available anything they make. This bike will get a whole lot better with bits that have been race proven.

Jake should start selling squares on his helmet and gear to get the funds rolling in. I'm sure there are a few here that would love to help!

good luck and all the best in the upcoming racing season!!!

i like this approach:

"They're [Ducati] not giving people access to Corse parts like they used to," said Snyder. "And usually with some of those Corse parts, if you want the radiator you've got to buy the $7500 of other crap you have to have to make the radiator work. So we're just building our own radiators, and after we build our own we're going to have radiators to sell. We're building everything because we can't afford to buy it. We're building our own fairings. Everything we're building we have the mold to make more, and Richard has the machine shop. So anything we build out of metal we're going to market."

that's the spirit.

don't get DP'ed :D

Well, it's true really, if you want to race a Corse bike but don't have Corse "official" backing or an alternative large sponsor to help foot the bill it's pretty well impossible to make that work. Now if everyone on the forum would buy a new Ducati from me this year, then I could step up our level of sponsorship and make it happen...... so let's get going on that!! Ha ha!

Hope to see you guys at Road America...

If the budget is that tight, let me know and I can have my smokin hot fiance make sandwich's and bring refreshments :D

All joking aside, THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!

Yes, we'll have all of that stuff for sale on our web site after it's developed and in production. We'll be testing some stuff at the club-racing level as well.

I got to meet Scott "Mr. Daytona" Russell this past weekend at the International Motorcycle Show in Minneapolis.. great guy. Got a picture taken with him too..

If you need some beta testing in the hot/humid SE, sign me up. You know, before you sell it you need to be sure it will perform for customers in all regions...:D

Well do up that 899 and put it up for sale, I might take it off your hands!

Here's a shamless plug for our AMA Pro Superbike team fundraiser - you get a t-shirt and decal package for helping support the team - $39.99 We've finished the first round of chassis/suspension testing at Chuckwalla with Jake Holden, he likes the 1199R a lot! Looking forward to Daytona in March!
