Much much better looking and considering all the work that was done, it's not very expensive either. $1100 seems fair. I'd do it if I had an 899.

I love the SSSA better than the stock ..... We will see.

Well, POKEE on the 899 forum has one off an 1199R for sale at $100. If mine was predominately a track bike, I would be inclined to do it, however since it is mostly for the street with an interest in the track, I plan on focusing my attention on some BST wheels... I just had a Yoyodyne slipper installed this past weekend.

Big difference with the slipper installed. Thats one of the mods I will be doing.

I was originally going to only install the mag case and Ducabike clear cover, but then decided to go ahead and swap out the ugly stock clutch with the slipper. It wasn't so much for the performance, but more to stabilize the rear during excessive downshifts. I realize the bike has EBC, however the idea of having the slipper provided an additional margin of safety in my mind.

I had to then decide between the Yoyodyne, STM, and EVR. Pure-Ducati got me the Yoyodyne for less than $800, so I went with it.

The difference is impressive and I can't imagine going back to not having one. This is definitely a worthwhile upgrade, though it required a sizable chunk of time at the same shop that performed the SSSA conversion.

Does it REALLY appear that much longer than the 1199? or a stock 899 for that matter?

I would say that saying it's stretched, is a 'stretched' exaggeration :p

I'll have the details from The magician later. Luckily, he took measurements. That said, if you have to measure...the difference isn't dramatic. Unless we are talking fitment.

Perhaps it looks longer since the hugger isn't on her yet and seems more exposed, but I don't pretend to know

Thanks for the input, nay-Sayers and motivators are always welcomed

Thats my man Jordan!
He's done work on a few of my bikes and damn can that dude ride on the track!!! :)

Haha, I've got one for sale:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Lol. It is shorter than the 1199's so no go, besides I already have BST's so I would rather wait for BST to make a carbon fibre singe sided swing arm.
This leave rotation I hope to install my cf hugger and heel guards, billet rear sets, billet pillion pegs and the PCV ignition module. I will publish the dyno results once done.

I would have preferred a double sided swing arm as it weights less and is more rigid.

What it comes down to though is using an 1199S Marchesini rear wheel with the SSSA saves this bike a TON more weight than the swing arm, and you know what they say about rotational mass. In the end after everything, the SSSA (if you're using Marchesini's) saves you a good 4-5 pounds on your 899.

;):D

The Dragon Lady feels offended. She is not a 899 but a fully fledged 1199 S Tricolore...

It looks aw3some and def looks better with the S wheels. If i have to get an 899 instead of an 1199 im doing this. Thanks for throwing it up.
