Or just keep this and be happy...
It's exciting now because it's new everyone loves the attention of having the latest .
It's just a painted 1299 . If someone told me they traded their 998r to buy a Troy Bayliss replica you would call them a ..... . Don't be that guy .
It is NOT just painted 1299. it has been discussed already. Anniversario is the best deal 1299 you can ever get lol. read the website and do the calculation. it is the cheapest limited edition and best bang for the buck limited edition bike ducati ever made lol....
Compared to the R it's a painted 1299 . If your after a new bike and you don't have one but the the one that's the best deal .
I would not swap my R for a Anniverioriolo or what ever it's called .
no one said they gonna swap R for anniversario.
let me give you some calculation breakdown. this is not just 1299 with paint unless you are totally blind.
1299s: 25500
akra slip on: 3800---> Now That alone is more than anniversario price 28999.
THEN you get all the carbon parts, special paints, New eve map AND you got one of 500 bike in the world AND you get lithium battery plus golden wheels etc etc many more. It should be easy to see this bike is crazy deal.
at this point if you STILL say anniversario is 1299+ paint you got some srs problem. lol
Hardly anything there to get excited about . Still looks like a 1299 with a paint job . If having a number on your triples is your thing congratulations the discussion is a comparison between the R and the painted up 1299 .
Did you say it's got a Lithium battery . .... me that is special .
These are beautiful pictures. There's one bit missing though; you need to give the R a bit of a thrashing to make the titanium pipe come up the stunning blue colour. I wish my pictures were as good as yours!
Nice review KMY, thank you for that. While you are in the mood for reviewing, I see you have the MV dragster, I have been looking at these and am toying with the idea of this as a second bike, your thoughts on it?
Cheers

I went for a blast on some back roads this afternoon and the R really showed its athleticism. It's a BEAST above 10k. The immediacy of that hit is intoxicating. I've never felt a pull quite like that before. Power wheelies in second are effortless and so controllable. And that Akrapovic exhaust is LOUD up in the rev range. WOW!!! I LOVE it.
I'm sure the S is insane too with all that torque and just as smooth but the R's motor with the light weight internals spins up so quick. It's truly an amazing piece of kit.
It doesn't make sense for me to have both in my collection at this time and despite the beauty of the Anniversario, when side by side with my R at the dealer yesterday the R definitely holds its own. The black wheels just look so tough and purposeful with the red and white. I kept thinking to myself that the S is pretty and elegant while the R looks fierce and purposeful.
I'm going to be putting miles on this bike and when I think about the depreciation hit I'll take on buying a new S I'm really leaning towards keeping the R. $33k out the door for the S and while no one has a crystal ball I could see this bike selling for low $20's a year from now given regular S's are already sub $20k. That's a big hit. My R would have to sell for $14k in a year for me to take a similar hit which feels like a long shot.
Dollars aside, I think I'm falling in love with this R with every mile. Her charms are intoxicating...
Putting off the final decision for another weekend. Thanks for the continued feedback and thoughts!
