Anniversario vs Panigale R

That's kinda my fault. I derailed the thread into a discussion about the Desmosedici vs. the Panigale R. It's just that you don't get the opportunity to talk to someone who owns both very often.....................if ever. Not to mention an RC45/RC30.............unreal!!!! Talk about a dream collection. Anyway, I saw the pics of the R and Desmo together, and since I'm in the market for either of them, I jumped in. I should start a new thread.

No worries man. All good discussions. Sounds like you're into the old Honda V4's. Here's two pics for you. (to derail the thread even more! :D)

Bikes are meant to be ridden and abused, not put on display or kept in the living room.

Of course, that is just my opinion.

Amen to that!! I enjoy riding all of my bikes. None of them sit unused. They are all fueled up and ready to hit the roads!

Maybe the only difference for me is that I enjoy riding some of them for different reasons. Some purely for their capabilities (Panigale R) and others for different intangibles. It's funny, I often get just as much enjoyment riding my 1975 cb500 at 40mph as I do going 75mph around a turn on the R.

Now if I could ride like it looks like you can maybe I'd sell them all and buy a Superleggera! :D

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now your just rubbing it in KMY!!!!!! ;) Just joking. That is awesome. You are in a very, very, small group of people, if it exists at all?? Yes, the RC30 was the dream when I was in my teens, and again, it was a dream that I'm not sure will ever be realized. That's one of the reasons I'm so interested in getting the Desmo. A further derailment: Honda VFR1000R in 2017................?????? I doubt it, but I'd definitely be torn............ What a great time to be a motorsports enthusiast. We're so spoiled for choice, it's silly.

Am I ever going to push this, or any other bike I own to the point where those tenths of seconds matter? No. I live 300 miles from the nearest track (Leduc, AB). Will this bike ever make it to the track? Honestly? Probably not. I'm a very advanced rider, but the ownership experience for me is not just shear speed. It's aesthetics, sound, exclusivity, and performance.

How do you know you are an advanced rider if you never make it to the track?

Or when you said "advanced", did you mean older? :D

FWIW - where there's a will, there's a way. 300 miles isn't bad at all, that is typically how far I go to all of my race weekends, and some of them are 400-500 miles away.

I totally agree. I get more smiles and laughs when riding my Grom at 50mph than I do riding on the track at 150mph. :D

I enjoy taking long distance trips on my Triumph Sprint ST also. I have ridden it from Northeast TN to southern Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas many times.

I just enjoy being on a bike. I don't have to be going balls out fast to have a good time.

Didn't get a chance to ride her this weekend, but did get the tail tidy on and a few more pics. I think she's almost as pretty as the Anniversario ;)

No reflectors are required on the street. I have never had a single reflector on any bike.

if you wanna collect get it but if you have a R already i dont see a need for anniversario imo. but having both is very nice for sure.

Only reason I'd consider the Aniversario over the R would be if I was only do street riding and planned on doing some big distance fairly regularly. Have them both :)
