I think they just need to reach the right person. At this price, it's just begging for someone to back out of their V4 Speziale and get this instead. The SL is cooler, rarer and more speziale ;)
 
I was talking about the $160,000 SL in Australia for sale.

But yeah it would be on the top of my shopping list if I was in the US and shopping for a superbike.

That's what I did. The tricokr v4 will be old news in a year. I've been lusting on the sl since 2013

"The Special" is only $60k+orcs.

The 1299 SL, while as drool worthy as it is, not worth $160K (unless you rich and moonwalk your way into the dealer)

You could find an old WSBK for that....

My mistake, I thought able duc was referring to the 1199SL for sale here.

For $160k, I'd definitely prefer old WSBK, especially if it was ex-Bayliss
 
These prices or maybe the high prices of the V4 are definitely making me look at a "used" 1199SL.

Question: is anyone concerned with out of warranty issues? I would assume a 2014 SL doesn't have a warranty anymore.

Where if I go V4S, I can breath easy knowing I am somewhat covered.

The V4 might be an amazing bike, but I think the 1199/1299 look way better.

I am thinking of waiting to see what the 2019 V4 looks like. And/or see what the 2019 BMW S1000RR is all about? Or just pick up a 1199SL. But my other issue with me and the SL is that I will put lots of mileage on it.

Isn't that the point? Your comment makes it seem as if you're looking at it from an investment/future resale point which doesn't make any sense. If you wanna make it a garage queen, that's kind of pointless too. Buy whatever bike and ride it. That's the point. Just hope that it is better protected than your hp4 that got stolen n you're good. That should be your only concern.

Oh ya. Ended up buying a house so my bikes were safer. :) put 34k on my first HP4. 44k on my current HP4. 15k on my DRZ. And I only ride every other week.

I can see myself putting lots of amazing miles on the SL

Getting a bike that has an Msrp of $65k with almost no miles for the same price as a v4 which will be old news in a year or two seems like a no brainer!
