Any suggestions on handle bar switch right/left (street used) and clutch slave cylinder

Hi guys,

I'm new to the group. I'm going to install the rcs brake and clutch master cylinders on the v4r. Knowing that I will need to change the right side handle bar switch in order to install the m/c so wondering which brand of the switch works better. Also since I'm going to replace the clutch side as well, thinking to replace the clutch slave at the same time but again not sure which brand is good. Appreciate for any suggestions or advises. Thanks

Can't comment on the switches but oberon slave is usually a safe bet. Just need to figure out how much weight you want on your pull. Not sure but i think oem is 29mm but it's a preference between 28-30mm

I have a new in sealed box Jetprime right switch which will mount to the original or RCS master. PM me and we can work out a price if you're interested.

Its this one...

Thanks for your advise. Do you mean the distance in the slave cylinder rod extend in those millimeter? I'm not too sure If I'm getting it right. Only have the bike less than a year and trying to learn and play with it.

Thanks. I looked it up but I think that's for 959. Should be 4 buttons for the v4r.

The heaviness to engage the clutch action. How easy or difficult to pull the lever. 28mm will be harder to pull in than a 30mm. I'm not sure if oberon has different weights for their slave but stm or cncracing offers them also and do offer different clutch actions.

Now I get it. Thanks for the explanation. I will look into it. Cheers!!

There is a 4 button one for the V4 too, its the heated grip button on that and the pit limiter on the V4R. I missed that you were on the V4R though.

No worries man. I'm actually looking at the WRS one, wondering if it's reliable?

WRS may be the OEM for Ducabike or vice versa. All of the aftermarket switches look like they use the same buttons. I doubt anyone of them is more or less durable than the other. Now this being the internet, someone will chime in about their cousin used whatever brand and it .... the bed.

Unique to Jetprime is that you can buy the individual parts. There isn't a lot to service in them as everything is covered with epoxy on the inside to make them robust.

Thanks man. I guess it all comes to personal preference then lol

I was looking at doing the same thing on my 1299S. I went through a lot of research, but my main focus was having everything look as close to WSBK as possible; if I was switching items out. I went with Ducabike. Be prepared that some of the switches may not accommodate all the functions the stock switches provide, ie flashing the brights. You'll really enjoy the new levers and good luck.

I started to get more confusion while looking up those switches. If for the street version they all claim the function is same as stock. I noticed the rcs master cylinder design which pull the lever more inward so I think I will need to mount the m/c as close to the throttle in order to get more grip on the lever. Checking out the switch like Jetprime as @bp_SFV4 mentioned, even for street use they have 2 version. One mounting bolts is inline and the other one is offset. If I want to mount the rcs m/c to the switch, which one should I go for?

I found the my answer. The inline bolt pattern fit the oem and rcs master cylinder lol. Thanks
