I think I remember that now. Thanks to both of you for reporting results. Did you get the street version or were you able to get a race version with no cutouts for lights? I would be interested in a race version.
Street version for me but I think WAF has a race version with lights covered.
So do you run this set all the time then? I'm guessing so based on your post saying you have a pristine set of OEM plastic in a box.
Do you have a link to a gallery with high res pictures we can peruse of your bodywork mounted? Also, did it come pre-drilled or did you have to mount it yourself? I kind of prefer the un-drilled so you can be sure of fitment by drilling mounting holes for your actual bike.
Stan your plan is to put it on the track with the bodywork right, and leave it on so you can ride street also.
I'll be honest Brother, and I know those that ride track will back me up on this.
Panigale's because they essentially have no frame don't crash well often.
At the track you never know what's going to happen, and you certainly don't know if some wanna-be Rossi is going to punt you off the track.
It could happen. You take great care of your baby. Why risk it? A bad crash could cost you several thousand.
Buy a beater track toy for 4K, and then have no worries (and peace of mind).
I see 06' and up R6's for sale all the time on the race boards for under 5K. I know a guy selling an 04' R1 right now for $3500.
We have talked about this. Buy a beater and I'll help you get it setup.
I'll also be the first admit that I don't have the balls to put my Panigale on the track.
rule of thumb dont track what you cant afford to wreck. i went with an 07 zx6r got it for a steal had 2k miles on it. runs great all i needed was new tires and an exhaust. well i didnt need the exhaust but i got a full yosh. best thing i ever did. no insurance on it the bike has no lights or anything now. if i wreck thats it move on. hopefully i wont.
fyi i know guys that run the 1199r the 1098 bayliss (yes bayliss edition) on the track. i wouldnt but thats just me.
