I've looked thru the forum and the only people who've said they've recovered the original seat are guys in the UK and Europe. Has anyone in the US had they're seat covered? If so who did it and were you happy with it? I'm thinking Corbin, Sargent, etc but not sure I like their styles?

When I had my 2009 CBR Repsol I got the seat cover from Luimoto, see link: Seat Covers DUCATI - Luimoto Then had a local upholstery shop put it on for $40.00.
I Don't think they have a cover for the 1199 yet.

Most have gone the rout of replacing rather recovering. Popular options are DP Comfort Seat or DP Race seat. I have the Comfort seat and love it.

I'm actually good with the hardness of the original now and don't want to increase ride height as I already have issues with tingling / numb right hand but do want to stop sliding around on the seat!!

Brother the comfort seat makes ALL the difference in the world on your ...! Night and Day! It does not change your riding form all that much that you would even notice despite the inch of cushy material on the comfort seat.

HOWEVER- I have noticed a few times that my right hand has tingled, like it fell asleep or hit funny bone and was kinda puzzled about that. Strange you mentioned it that way. There is NO WAY it is from the riding position of the seat though since I had the same feeling then too. DP did very well with their other seats this time, as well as their fender eliminator too!!

Gunny, my hand issue is due to a rugby career that messed up my neck / back fairly badly and I pay the price on the bike. I even got tingly fingers on my K1300S! And on my GSXR 750 I had a wretched time until I converted it to a track machine. I think 20 mins spent in total concentration mode doesn't allow for any pain to come though! I try as much as I can to ride with the legs I.e. support my weight through my core but I can't ride the Pani for more than 20 mins before I can start to feel it. Therefore, I don't want to do anything that might adversely affect the riding position that puts more weight onto the wrists. And to be honest the comfort factor is why I've never bought a Ducati before.
I hear mixed reactions to the comfy and race seat that it does lift you up an extra inch or two vs some say it's no difference?
