Anyone think bar end sliders help with vibration and tingly hands?

I read on a few of the slider manufacturer sites that bar sliders add a tiny bit of weight that aids in the vibration. Just wondering if anyone who installed them saw an improvement in tingly hands? I'm constantly moving my hand around and squezzing the tank to lessen the pressure off my hands every few miles but to no avail. My right hand gets tingly after about 20ish miles doing 70-85mph.

yep. there was a guy on here who casted his own bar end weights.

they also work well preventing wheelies ;)

To me 1199 has no tingling...Grip of death will cause that....

Nah, not here man, I'm constantly moving my right hand around while on the freeway making sure to have a loose grip. I've been at this a couple of weeks now trying to figure out the magic combo of angle and placement of my right hand. No death grip at all. Sometimes I can make it all the way to my office from my home which is 23 miles w/o tingling, but most days I have a bit of it. Under 20 miles I'm ok.

I don't see how placement affects tingle vs no tingle..... Anyway I have DP bar ends..which are lighter than the originals... Never with either did I have an issue....

Damn you guys are lucky. On a recent 50 mile ride I was moving the pinky side up and out to rest the meaty part of my palm on the grip. That would work for 10 miles then I'd get a tingle again. So I'd roll/rotate my entire hand up on the grip to get a new feel and that would work for another 10 miles then a tingle again. That's what I mean by placement. If you've never had your hand going numb, you would have no idea what I'm talking about since you would never have to deal with it. I would say 75% of my friends have this same issue on varying makes. Thought it was just a sportbike thang. Then when I read that bar sliders can help with vibration, I thought I'd ask the forum.

I'm pressuming the tingle comes from high frequency vibrations coupled with the angle of your wrists on the grips putting pressure on the nerve in the wrist. So depending on your torso/arm metrics, I can see why some would have no probs while others, like myself, can have minor annoyances.

FWIW, I have the same problem on 50+ mile rides on my roadbike bicycle. Specialized Tarmac SL4. Same tingle from long durations leaning on my wrists. Maybe I'm just screwed haha

UPDATE:

Bought new and installed some RhinoMoto bar end sliders. Same damn ants in my right hand after 25mi ride to work at 80+mph. Guess they didn't help me. Anyone hear of heavier bar ends than this brand? The parts guy said these RhinoMoto ones are some of the heaviest yet weighed about the same as the oem ones when I compared in my hands.

Also gonna look into diff gloves. I have A-Stars SP1s but will see if any newer gloves have a better palm pad. Just trying diff things.

also look at different grips maybe.

fill the clip-ons with sand or lead? (trying to be creative here ;) )

Riding last night... I was trying to see how I am holding the bars so as to understand why you have this issue and I do not... I am somewhat flat palmed on the grips right on the fatty part of the base of my thumb and palms...Very little downward pressure or actual gripping as it were..... I have DP Bar ends.standard grips and wearing A* GP PLus gloves....:)

all jokes aside you may want to try progrip 717 grips feel great. they are actually standard on the sl

gunny also got me as a gift these grips called spyder grips that feel amazing. actually says on them something about vibration. i didnt say that because i havnt tested them yet. i am going to put them on the bmw but have to see if they are compatible with heated grips. i will report back but they feel great in my hands

thanks buddy

I've done many trackdays (with Triumph Daytona 675) and a Monster and never had this issue on anything under 50mi rides. So I'm well aware of having too much weight on the front hands/wrists and not having any added input into the bars, especially the throttle hand. I'm very conscious of using my legs to squeeze the tank and use my core to lessen pressure and unwanted input to the hands.

So My thinking is the vibrations are greater/different on this Pani.

Since the bar ends didn't help, I'm gonna order some "grip puppies" I've read about. They're foam grip covers that alledgedly help bigtime. That and I'll try some diff gloves and see what happens.

I've read about "gel" grips helping with vibrations too. Who knows haha

Aftermarket bar ends are typically lighter than the stock ones, especially on the Panigale. They purposely added heavy bar ends to cut down on vibration. So it would seem that changing them out for something lighter would only make the vibration worse.

Well some are advertised as especially weighted to reduce vibes more than OEM. Motivation bar end "weights" are one brand I was looking at. The RhinoMoto ones I bought (and will now return) were supposed to be heavier. But you're right, most are lighter and would not be would I'm looking for.

I'm now thinking it's all "snake oil" anyways. It's more a matter with ergonomics (using your core and legs to alleviate as much weight on your wrists), grips, and gloves. Don't think the bar ends, even heavier ones, and/or filling clip-ons with concrete, would help me haha.

I just read on other forums that these are miracle aids too:

I know you said you covered this base; but here goes. I had a similar problem with my hands after switching from my Street Fighter to the Panigale. I cured my hand problem with a lighter grip on the bars and consistent work on my "core" at the gym. I now regularly do 150-200 mile days no problem.
