Apparently we're getting Akrapovic Slip Ons for the 1199!!

Yeah... It was probably a bit misleading what I wrote.
The valve stays in the pipe. But your able to remove the
servo motor and cable for the valve with the termi slips.
Therefore the valve is always open and the up map of the slip ons
deactivates the electric. connection which then won't give you an
error message in the dash.

After my accident I replaced my Termignoni manifolds with the standard manifolds (ceramic coated inside and out). Before I had it ceramic coated I removed the exhaust valve in total. My Pani got the pro stock upmap and PCV with autotune at the same time. She sounded wonderful - the CW slip on has a much deeper sound. :p

So I spoke with Akrapovic. It should be released end of May, with a price of $3,229.95..... It's a bit expensive for a slip on IMO since I can get the full set up for a few hundred more.

wow. i understand what goes into R&D and overhead and so on, but 3 grand for a set of cans? wow.

on the other hand, it's a logical step for them. the full system is already there, they will just need a different flange for the stock headers. why not throw the net out and catch the rest of the fish out there.

so 3 grand for how many more horses, how many lbs dropped and that bit of shiny vanity? will it make you faster?

People should have gotten the full system when it was $3395. $3200+ for a slipon is a hard pill to swallow. I know I wouldn't do it. This tells me that their intentions are to have potential buyers convinve themselves to buy the full system. It would be much easier to buy a full system at $4k vs. a slipon at $3200. Either way that's a ton of money for both.

Even at $4k for Full system the slips are bad value at $3200 Imho.... Termi slips were just over half the full system price ($2000 vs $3850) .. and that was still a tough buy at that price.... Still no mapping either from Akra???

They are not going to sell many slip on's for $3200. Its not a $1000 more performance not matter how pretty the welds are.

I said it before, and I'll say it again: Those little logos on the MotoGP bike didn't come cheap and they're going to get all the suckers out there to pay for them:

what's that big silver metal thing on the bike where the rearsets are attached. mine didn't come with one, think i got jipped.

Anybody that bought a D16 got jipped:eek:
No Ackro, no carbon swing arm and poor resale value.

Looks like the SL is better value;)

So, Revzilla already has this available for pre-order for $2,900. I'm sure after it's released we'll find places that have them close to the price of the Termi Slip-on. It say's July availability but Akrapovic said they should have them the end of this month.

I just can't get over that price for cans only. Has anyone heard them? Is it a substantially different sound?

My issue with this is the lack of any changes in the Ecu tuning of the bike...To me the major upside of the termi slips was the remapping...maybe it makes more power..unsure.. but the bike runs substantially better...Just changing stock mufflers for Akra for ~$2900 is simply insane...imho...

Hey bro. Just wanted to get your feedback regarding "the bike runs substantially better"... I'm just having a really hard time deciding which system to get. Reading a lot of reviews etc but what do mean it runs better with the Termi slips. Thanks man.

It means you need that USB stick, the upMap that only comes with the termi slip-on system. It also displays the word 'RACING' on the dashboard :D
