AR Inconel Install

Yeah don't be too disappointed just yet, I bet its running lean as Fa@k right now... let them add a bit of fuel and it should pick up... the AR system is almost like having straight pipes, maybe it needs a bit of back pressure as well....

Can't wait to see what the tuner will be able to get out of it.

Ye I've done tunes before on the Harley so I know not to expect too much from a tune, generally its hard to find 10hp, let alone 20hp unless you are doing some engine work.

Although i would be dellighted to see different my guess is that will make it fuel beautifully, and recover the mid-range it lost, plus some, but we won't crack 180hp peak power.

The fact that we saw 172HP on this dyno suggests that this is consistent with the reported numbers we've seen from many blokes on this forum.

I'm trying to reconcile with the numbers from the AR numbers for their Slipon test which showed 177HP for Slips, 5hp more than mine made in original form.

So allowing for this I'm guessing we're actually aiming for 185HP peak not 190HP. Clearly we're not using the RB module so we won't be making like with like comparisons.

Haven't seen it with belly pan on, frankly felt like I needed to step away and leave them to it....feeling a bit dark about it all.

beautiful pipe, but does suck that your gains are negligible. but on the bright side, the AR is significantly lighter than the full termi, right? and i actually prefer the looks of the AR....and the SOUND is totally worth it too! One baffle sounds perfect to my ears....

so maybe AR can give you some money back.../sarc

OMG that one with no baffle just made me laugh

here i am saying that is not funny. love the sound
sounds angry
to bad ill get pulled over tho

I noticed in your vids, the tuner is only blowing air onto the radiators and nothing into the intake.
Other dyno vids where people were getting higher numbers have huge mother fans blowing into the intake. Do you think this has any bearing on the numbers you're seeing?

I believe Rich said they were getting 180-185 rwhp with stock map and open exhaust.

Did you replace the slip-on map with the stock map? Might be the difference with stock map.

We're you expecting 205 HP ? Seriously mate who cares just get it tuned right and ride it ........172 HP or 182 HP all good numbers but wasted unless your using every one of them .

I agree with Wilkinson,

That looks and sounds amazing, just get it running right and don' t worry about peak HP you will never get to explore that on the road.

Again, sounds unbelievable, like a Moto GP bike.

If I get good performance gains in the mid-range I will be stoked. I'll wait and see how we go with the tune.

I want to thank you for your honesty with this and I feel your disappointment.

It sounds mental  though and like others have said look at the weight savings. At least you didn't buy a full DP system and replace it with the AR, that would have been really annoying!

Good luck with the tune mate.

One thing I forgot to mention, forum fav, heat! So I did a test ride with the right hand fairing off so not sure what impact that would have had. Today wasnt warm (by Perth standards) but I could feel it clearly, gut feel is that its going to need some sort of shield but can't be sure until its been tuned a this will have an effect. ProTwin also suggested ceramic coating. A couple of people who have Tuneboy tunes have mentiond the bike running cooler so fingers crossed.

what heat?

congrats to the beautiful exhaust!

very interesting, is the bike still at pro-twin wouldn't mind to pop down and check out the system if you dont mind?

just to give you an idea my bike made 166.4hp on pro-twins dyno completely stock. Justin wasn't happy with the results and we were meant to run it again with the rear abs sensor off but we never got around to doing it

Yes of course mate, its still there, Justin's probably slogging away in the dyno room right now ;) We ran with the wheel sensor off. Will certainly be there tomorrow and probably till the weekend. Haven't put the belly pan on yet though.
