Oh damn WA, sorry to hear about your numbers problem. Not all is lost so cheer up, lad! Yes please do give me some feedback once everything is done and over, I still have this system in my sights along with the Termi. Oh hell, i don't know what I want :(

Haha! Will do :)

If the system does not meet your expectation, will AR exchange it for credit? Return policy? Seems like a lot of money for a misrepresentation.

George your post took me back to look at the AR dyno graph that has been bandied around a lot (see attached)

If I'm reading that graph right it's showing an un-mapped AR system with both baffles as 182hp. So assuming its the same bike they dyno'd at 177hp with slips, it gained 5hp with no tune.

So perhaps they are doing something on their dyno that produces better numbers...I shall check.

I absolutely love the sound with no baffles so thanks for posting that clip. It's too much money for me to spend just for a sound upgrade (I don't need the extra juice), but it was great to listen to. If somebody would just make slips that sound like that I'd be all over it.

Keep in mind that they are not on the same side of the globe as you---different altitude, air density, shop temp, happy dyno and etc. I would rather settle for a clean, i mean super ....... clean fueling with no bog down spots in the powerband and call it a day. Numbers are nice and all but they don't mean jack if the fueling is off, plus when are you gonna use all 190plus whp?. WA that is my 2 pennies.

I sincerely hope that it doesn't come to that. I really don't want a piggy back RB module but I would like to test one to see if it will make the difference if Tuneboy doesn't do the trick. Perhaps they will lend me one to test ;)

I agree. Different situation. I'm also looking for rideability.

However, all things being equal though for each dyno between runs, the pipe is also a constant, assuming the pipe I have is the same as the one they fitted. So my question is NOT why did our dyno make less power but rather why did the addition of a pipe result in an increase in HP on one and not the other.

Something to do with the equator maybe?? :D

Aren't you the first person outside of AR to install and dyno on the forum?

Hopefully no one is surprised that a manufacturers claims are not exactly what is seen in reality? This would mean the AR's figures are exactly like every other product...enhanced for marketing purposes. Shocking.

Are you near the AR distributor for Oz? You should work through him to get the numbers to match closer - it behooves him to get them up.

The AR dyno runs were made using my bike which went to them with the full Termi system fitted, I think it made 173bhp when first tested with up map and Termi, after the rapidbike it made 186bhp and I was present when it was dyno'd.

I am not affiliated to AR in anyway merely a customer but they are not inflating their dyno results, I have seen the gains with my own eyes when my bike made 191bhp with the AR system. I am getting the bike back on Friday so i'll try to get some video over the weekend.

i'll say this; I've dealt w/ Rich a bunch over the past few months. Yes, he has a product that he wants sold, but I don't get a BS vibe by him in the least.

As an owner of a system on an early production, problem laden turd of an 1199 I can't say I've been able to give a full review of the system or get it tuned due to the fact... well, mine doesn't run....

I really dig on how WA has put the system under the microscope and I'll do my best to do the same.

However, let's give Rich a chance to chime in here and offer up his perspective on the system he and AR designed.

I'm not someone who gives credit w/out their being some solidity behind it. I hope the numbers line up in the end and I think they will.

BTW WA: I think it's going to end up needing the shield too.

I've asked Rich to see if there are any settings we might have missed. Ultimately I'm sure they'd want to help. Lets see how we go, I might take it down to these guys who have a brilliant rep, for a second opinion and comparison run, they're just a long way away

Perhaps my wording was a bit too strong. My point is, all manufactures make amazing claims (Akrapovic, Termi etc) that are difficult to reproduce in reality. So we shouldn't be shocked when bikes that aren't being tested on the companies dyno don't show the same results. Not intended to be a slam on AR or any other manufacturer...just a predictable phenomenon.

Good, we all know he wouldn't mis-represent, so it is environment/equipment/fueling related I am guessing. If you had RB, he could just sen you his map. But I think TB is the way to go. I would like to try it someday (w/o exhaust).
