At what RPM do you mostly ride?

I try not to go below 6K… above 7 is where the fun lives. Also the bike sounds better at higher RPM.

I run 4K or more for flat straight cruising as well. Below that it's like taking my cat to the vet in a carrier. Lots of thrashing around, bad noises and I'm pretty sure something bad is going to happen if I do it for too long.

Do you have Termis??

Can't run 6k RPM or less without the bike wanting to shut down. Do y'all have Termi's, does that make the bike smoother around 4-6k mark?

Hwy cruising for me 4th gear, 6k RPM

What part of "giant pussy" do you not understand? :) One crash and this is most likely gone. Doesn't matter how much money you make or what you pay for insurance. I'm taking my time and riding it harder every day. I learned to "find the time" in my riding with my last bike...yes I dragged both knees on the street but it didn't mean I had to every corner.

As long as you don't drag both knees at the same time, it's all good.

No. Bike is bone stock.

The reason I ask is because I found the Termi slips with up map made the bike run much better generally but particularly in the lower rev range..where we all know Ducs do not normally like to be....

Went -1 in the front, usually 5500-6000 when commuting. Avg 44 mpg, 7500 on twisties

Wow.. first time i've seen so much agreement :)

same here too.. it just settles in between 5500-6500... but you know how easy it goes to 10k+! :D

I do the same 5500-6500 crusing. I find that it wants to vibrate the most and shake itself to death at 4-4.5k. I try to avoid that rpm.

I like to keep it in the power range, so I tend run around 1300rpm in 4th or 5th gear...

Just double-checking... :)

Sorry, too drunk to understand if you're taking a ... at me or just being sarcastic or both. Read sig. Either way it's jus the internet :)

Thanks. Unlikely I'll ever put them on, but maybe someday if I find a real deal on them.

i keep the bike mostly in Sport mode for Normal road riding up to and beyond 8k sometimes where i get away with it ,
and when i get into twisties i like to max it up all the way to 11k, as long as i,m seeing the red gear change lights thru every gear i,m a happy bunny, bit harsh on the Supercorsa,s though the rears roughly lasting between 12 to 1400 miles :eek:

This is actually a great question for someone new to a twin...but I cannot get over the agreement on this forum for once.

My biggest issue is carrying the rpm's into corners. This bike leans so easily, however I feel like as soon as I let off the throttle it just stops. Is this just me? I have the engine braking off, and anything that could effect it. I just feel like I take corners even on the track at way too low of a gear in order to get the rpm's back up. Any advice? not trying to hijack the thread here promise.
