Austinracing system updates

Again, i'm not attacking anyone and I not trying to whip up this already beat horse.

I think it all stems from Richs original claims way back when..when he tried to take the high ground against other products and then started attacking posters on here... But I understand your point.. and its valid...

As I type, I'm questioning why I'm even doing this... but, I am so I can't be too unsure about it I guess...

I'm not sure where to begin with all of this and I'm sure my words and picture will come under fire as these threads, product and vendor has. Seems like this place could stand a group of guys who spent more time in the seat, and much less time typing or "fighting the good fight" that seems to be the prevailing theme about this product and site these days. and here it comes... 3... 2... 1...

I bought the kit for a few reasons. #1. I honestly thought though reading the description of how the system was constructed it'd help deal with shedding heat. #2. I knew the bike suffered from fueling issues and being friends with a local shop that had access to a dyno and a fantastic tuner, I though it a great excuse to have the bike mapped. #3. Termi... Termi... Termi.... Look, I get it but, I had done a full termi kit on my hyper w/ stacks and I felt it ruined the bike. On top of that, I like seeing different things done to bikes then just the norm or standard. Now knowing that the Termi set up does in fact make sense, I would have been completely happy w/ them. But, what's done is done and this is just my opinion. Do what you like. #4. I happen to really like the idea of saving weight w/ a different look. Does my riding benefit from either? No. But either does much of what's available aftermarket to be honest.

I had my share of issues getting the system fit. Once I did and now w/ the term- up map (waiting now to get it in for the custom map) I'm happy with it.

I know i'll be labeled here as a "fan boy" or whatever that .... internet term is by a few people and I'm not going to get in a war and stick my dick up like a lot of what's going on here. But, throughout my dealings with getting this system right, Rich was a pleasure to deal with and FULLY backed his product.

I'm not going to sit here and type and make comments on how he's dealt with his PR here as that's his cross to bare. But I will say I NEVER got any attitude, delay in response or lack of support w/ questions.

I do wish for a bit more out of the pipe over all for the price. But, I can confidently say that I'm happy with my purchase and would buy from Rich again. For Rich, I wish he was able to have presented himself better. The only reason I say this is that I'm as small business owner and today your presence on the net is everything. I hope that he continues to work with the people he intends on selling his products to. You aren't going to get to do that with product development with other companies. Who cares what I think... I'll leave it at that.

If anyone has a question that I can calmly do my best to answer, please feel free to ask. I hope to offer up what I can for those who have bought the system or to those who are thinking about doing so (if there's anyone left).

Thanks,
andy

Have you dyno'd it yet - did you just notice the lack of power just in the 'seat of the pants dyno?
How many baffles? If one which side are you running it?
What were the fitting problems?

I am gagging to get mine back as the bikes been off the road for ages :(

Mostly I had a similar experience until recently as you will have read. Whilst I wouldn't say they were a pleasure to deal with we had a straightforward interaction.

Rich always responded and helped me though the fit. I've worked on bikes fo years and even built a few. Am i bragging? Not at all. I'm just saying that i'm a decent wrench and had a bear of time getting it fit. Part of how tight everything is on this bike and part me not being pleased unless things were perfect. I lined every part of my lower fairings with rather thick fiberglass weaved reflective shielding tape just to be sure as my clearances were super tight.

No dyno yet. We're going to do it after hrs a my friends shop and they are very busy and I don't wish to burden them. I did sneak the termi map. I feel the throttle to be a bit smoother though the mid. but not a huge fall off. I do think the idle is worse and still a bit rough in the lower range for my liking. I hope to gain smoothness as apposed to seeking every possible bit of HP & TQ. I personally HAVE to run both baffles as I can't take it w/ just one or none. If I was racing, it's be different, but plenty loud with both in in my opinion.

Overall I had clearance issues stemming from the head flange and how the pipe related to the lower fairings. It took several off and ons before I could gain the clearances I felt comfortable with as to not damage the fairings or bellies. Rich worked with me throughout the process. I was frustrated with how I couldn't get it right and he calmly helped how he could.

Thanks. Look forward to seeing the numbers. I'll post my new charts soon, hopefully this weekend. We've done a lot of work to get it running right, which seems to be your experience but from a different perspective.

With the greatest respect to your comments about service I also acknowledged that AR had been helpful along the way, several times, and i even stuck up for them initially when the part failed and shipping thing came up and I'm pretty sure you've seen that.

Many, many members, outside of the group involved in this stoush, acknowledged my patience and balanced approach, again even after the exhaust failiure but ultimately it still resulted in personal attacks on this forum, initially from his alter-ego Burnsy and subsequently from Rich. There is no excuse for that, and the spectre of that sort of treatment looms for any customer that exercises free speech.

Frankly if AR were in Australia I would be filing a report with the ACCC (Australian competition and consumer commission).

You cannot do anything with an imported product???

If AR's reputation is as good as you say then why bother worrying about what a few people have to say on one little forum??? Let the product and Rich's customer service speak for itself....Oh wait.... Maybe they have???

No kidding. With worldwide sales in the triple digits why worry about this place:D

my advice is you taking your own advice: 2 "members" with one stone.

You must not look at YouTube or other forums blogs an the like. Reputation is as good as if not better than any. My advice rich is stay clear of this dump.....

.........

You are banned, and cannot post here anymore. You still are because like a chicken with its head cutoff, it will continue to run around a bit before finally collapsing.

FYI - no one really cares who you are or what you are, or even that you "are" :p
