Today I was 100 miles out from home and was really hating it with the upshifts. I've only had 1 downshift failure but it wasn't hard decel.

Really sucks riding with some buds and u can't hang because of the failures.

had the same thing happen to memissed upshift resulted in over rev.

same for going down

shouldn’t be that hard but for some reason I’m not a fan. At 800 miles shouldn’t keep happening, might to take it in. I’m back to DQS off and it’s much more fun.
That’s not good. Keep us appraised

trailered mine [V4] down to the Ducati service center today. DQS was intermittent. Perfect when it works but when it doesn’t it’s reminds me what a beautiful Italian piece of .... these bikes can be.
1st time complaining abt missed quick shifts they reset computer, and sent me out to test. Now hopefully they will replace something so it’s flawless like almost everyone else’s modern Ducati’s
When you bring it down on a trailer instead of riding, they know it’s serious

Very annoyed and fearful- I’ve had some unpleasant up/down shifts with the DQS at various speeds. Icouple of missed shifts, handful of it won’t downshift, and some jumpy up shifts.

Scariest one I had was on the highway going 75-80 seeing back lights turn on in front of me and not being able to quickly down shift and grab some brakes. Had to give her an extra click to engage.

DQS off is much more fun

btw did they charge to for the labor?

Better not of charged for labor. If the parts don't work as intended thats on ducati.

I will call thsm about it. They passed me off with the brake fluid change so it'll be interesting to see how they react now

Lol I gave them a bottle of Motul 5.1 for all 3 to be renewed... they just renewed 1,000 miles ago when it was it but it’s due again, the back one is toasty looking now. Time to upgrade to RBF660 and see if I can go further b4 it’s toast.

yes the quick shifter shall be warranty work. It was always locking me out of 3rd. Your issue where it bounces off the redline is more frightening than someone walking by without a mask on... but you didn’t damage your bike. It’s happened on my 1299 a few times and that bike hasn’t .... the bed yet. Did have to order an HM OEM replacement quick shifter since it’s out of warranty and it was locking me out of gears.

these bikes are a gem tho once they’re sorted. Don’t give ur service center too much sas abt ur black brake fluid at 75miles, they should treat you right and go to bat for you with warranty. Just make sure you get warranty stuff squared away immediately

I'm still pissed they won't honor changing my front brake fluid that I paid for. I brought in the fluid and even gave them the rest. They only changed the rear. And got fluid on the engine.

I also called to see about getting in which I was told I have to wait for the "ducati" rep to be in Monday. They only have 1 person that I was told handles ducati warranty/issues.

Not a happy purchaser atm

I was going to make a joke about engine braking but this is no joking matter. Just politely request they renew brake fluid this time around.
it’s a Ducati, don’t be surprised with frequent trips to the service center. That’s why you should buy another, so you’ll always have a Ducati to ride while the other one is in the shop

or start collecting tools including a MityVac to renew brake fluid. Then it will spend 1/3 the time at the shop, 1/3 of the time apart in your home workshop and the rest of the time it can try to be reliable transportation

Lmao. I hope thats not truly the case.

I hope to receive a call Monday with a date to bring it in. I will also ask for that work to be completed. But we will see.

As for buying another i would love too but not in the cards atm.

Euro seemingly acted as if I hadn't called saturday to speak with the Ducati rep. Was told to not bring it in and to wait for them to get back to me on if the warranty is covered...

Email > call
Keep us posted. Might need to bring it back a few times b4 the issue is resolved

Thats true. I usually email for record purposes. Especially, with dealerships.

I'll forward something over tonight to the owner.

So, any update on this issue? Thank you.
Not other than to up shift have throttle wide open and to down shift have revs above 5k and throttle fully closed and it will be smooth . What issue are you experiencing?

On my 1299S I had to adjust the gear lever to suit my foot position, I did the same for the V4S and that improved the quick shifter operations.

Jeez, this is embarrassing. Unfortunately, I’m Ducati-less. I’m just browsing as I contemplate a Ducati purchase and your report had me wondering.

Ah!
The key for smooth auto blipping is throttle fully shut and revs above 5k.
:)

The Ducs are great once you get all the bugs worked out under warranty. They’re great bikes, especially the current mode year lineup.

The S1000RR looks like it’s built closer to the precision of my 2014 Triumph Daytona 675 than even my 2015 1299. My 2020 V4 looks like it’s a full decade ahead of the S1000RR
I’m sure it’s a great bike and bmw takes care of warranty claims quickly but it costs as much as a Base PV4 but it’s not a SuperBike

every time you go to your garage (or if you’re smart, living room) and look at your new Ducati, any little headache it gives you from teething issues will be quickly overcome by love. Maybe you should just get an oversized poster to pin up on the wall.

Says the guy running Zard exhaust. Yer perception is whacked. Maybe dropped on head one too many times as child. Dunno

The poster idea is a good one tho : )
