Would anyone know of a shop that can install the DDS upmap in the Bay Area? My local Ducati dealer won’t do it as they have a bunch of rather ridiculous stipulations.
Thanks for this. I was just a couple days late on getting this done before this letter hit. Dang…The letter from Ducati NA to the dealers was posted here:
Ominous News
It appears that the US is cracking down on aftermarket exhausts on road going bikes, specifically those sold by dealers. Let's hope this draconian...www.ducatiforum.co.uk
BummerI have my bike sitting at the dealer for almost a month now. The bike went in for the stuff done to it way before the 2/22 date. Ducati NA says they cant see the upmap associated with my VIN.
What mods do you have on your bike and what map are you running?I have the T800. I like it because, among other things, it lets the user move back and forth between maps.
Looks like the only way around this especially if you live in CA is RapidBike, BrenTuning, T800, or custom tune. Anyone have any insight into these options?
Ducati really dropped the ball on this by not announcing this with some time in between this draconian intervention. I get it… the environment… the law. Some heads up would’ve been nice.Mi bike has been at the dealer for way over a month still. They can not remove the slip on map in order to put the full exhaust map on it. Dealer, DNA, Italy... everyone is involved, yet no one has a solution...
Why’s that?None of them options are gonna work out you be better off running a platform like Tuneboy or Woolich.
Why’s that?
Ooof. That’s a little extreme for my application. I just plan to keep riding the bike on the street and occasional trackdays.Cause Rapid Bike and Bren will not tune the bike correctly not to mention you are still gonna be stuck with the narrow band sensors does absolutely nothing for you above 15% throttle. Spend the extra money, get the correct software (Woolich) and some wideband sensors, log box and now you can correctly tune the bike.
It seems the UPMAP offers no reasonable performance benefit...
It does unlock a pretty cool "RACING EVO" splash screen during startup, however.
