Best Backpack?

Lol..true on the winter thing. You'll probably have purchased it and broken it in by the time I make up my mind. I was all set and then started overthinking it again. Since I have two 18L packs that work ok for me, why not buy the bigger one in case I have a need for it? Seems silly to have another smaller pack like the R20 when I already have two in that size range. *sigh*

One day I'll make up my mind.

Oh, it will take me months. I'll buy a $30k motorcycle in a day, but a backpack, that's a commitment.

Since my big concern is scratching the bike, I like that on the R20 you can remove the waist strap completely. I don't commute far so maybe a not-so-technical pack is fine. But on the flip side, I'd HATE to get the R20 and start thinking, "damn, should have gotten the bigger one." And looks like the R25 sinches down pretty good when not using the space.

To any of you with the R25, is there any issue at all with anything touching the tank, or it scratching the tail from sitting straight up at stop lights?

Puma_Ferrari_backpack.JPGPuma makes great backpacks for Ferrari. The Ferrari and Ducati red are very similar. Therefore a quality Ducati Corse patch placed over the Ferrari patch makes for a great looking backpack.

R25 Coming in next week. After getting blindsided (and drenched) by more than one storm, I won't trust any other backpack or bag.

i have and love the alpinestars tech aero backpack. many features holds a lot of stuff. a little expensive but well worth it. check sportsbiketrackgear.com for the review. here is a picture

+1 This what I have and it works great. Lots of storage area and pockets.

Oops--I got the R30, not the R25. Here's my R30/US-20 Tailpack packed with enough clothes for 2 days on the road, my armored Revit Jacket, Doc Martin boots and tools for the track. The hump on the suit pushes the bag out and it looks like I'm fairly loaded down, but the chest straps are genius and take a huge load off your shoulders.

I have no doubt that the R25 is also a great pack, but keep in mind that the R30 is only as big as it looks in the photo if you stuff the .... out of it. ;)

Here's where I hard-mounted the two front straps that clip into the US20.

Did they really choose to model a backpack like that? Not that I mind, but I doubt thats putting it to good use :)

I have the R25 and have not had any problems with it touching anytning.

All good and well made. I got the little pouch for the shoulder too and have a US20 and US10 as well. And got the tool roll. Kreiga made some money out of my order but all well made.

I bought a Kriega K25 on the back of a number of reviews in this forum and whilst it is well made and able to carry heavy loads comfortably it doesn't work well with my racing jacket (small hump), it feels a little constricting with the chest fixing and the adjustment doesn't work quite as well as advertised. Ultimately these reviews are very subjective and this one is just my own personal experience.

Anybody have a backpack they love? I'm looking for a fairly small/mid sized just for work clothes, odds and ends to and from work. But the pack I use has a buckle that hits the tank, and sits low enough to rub the tail when sitting at lights. Since nothing is allowed to touch my girl, looking for a pack that sits high enough not to rub the tail and some buckle desing to keep it off the tank. I like the Kriega US25, just a bit pricey. Any recommendations?

I have the Kriega R25 with the optional front compartment. The fit and quality is great. Highly recommend.

I have that one too and really like it. It's amazing how it distributes weight. I had sprockets, DID chain, tools and a bunch of other stuff crammed into it weighing about 20lbs and didn't really notice it. No shoulder or neck strain. Pretty cool design.

I have the little pouch too and have to relocate it, I keep hitting the chin of my helmet on it when I look to change lanes. Just bugs me.

This is really interesting because I have found the same thing with the adjustment. I watched the video review and it looked super easy but I can only get the bottom adjuster to work as advertised but the top ones never quite seem to work properly? Has anyone else had this?

That being said, for my commute either to work or up to family it carries things very well and comfortably and I'm happy with that, just a little disappointed with the straps.

How big is the hump on your jacket as well? I have a small one (Dainese jacket) and as long as I don't put anything hard in the top of my bag I've got no issues.

Cheers,
MoZ

I've had my Kriega R35 for ten years. Not only is it the only piece of kit I still use almost all the time, but it still works, feels and looks as good as the day I bought it. Best zippers I have ever seen on anything. I only wish they made gearbags.
