Any thought on removing the flapper valve?

Is there a significant increase in volume? Any downside?

i also would like to ask sumone about this

i hear some have removed theres
but is there any pros or cons to this? besides louder exhaust.
would it ruin the starting or create smoke or bad for engine long term?

From what I've heard, it's only there for noise restrictions (they don't even have one with the termi setup). If you run your bike at about 4000rpm steady, you'l hear the exhaust flapper constantly opening and closing. The volume isn't considerably different, but I do find it's anoying and makes the bike buck a little. The cable can be disconnected on the left side of the bike between the exhaust cans (there are other threads with more info). If you just disconnect the cable, you will get a code, but it won't show up on the dash. Only your service tech will see it when hooking up the computer.

We did take the main shaft for the flapper valve out and welded the ends shut again but that means you have to take the pipes of the bike. No down side, some say you loose bottom end but I call that a myth, never felt any of it.

A simple way is if you just disconnect the cable that goes to the valve, it then stays open.

Like I said, I have never ever kept a stock exhaust on a bike, they all sound like crap but on the 1199 without the valve in it it really did sound good, just loud enough and a simple way to save some $ and get some sound. Don't get me wrong, it's not much louder but there is a difference.

Disconnect the cable once, start the bike and let it idle, close the valve by hand and you can hear the difference in the sound right away.
Sorry no vid and as it was said, you can't capture the real sound on a vid anyway, the rattle of the engine is what you hear the most.

Have you guys seen this?

Best slip on I've seen for the Pani yet.

It is my understanding that the damn flapper valve must come off the bike, w cable and servo, if mounting any other exhaust. No need for it otherwise. No?

And screw that nasty CW slash cut thing! Lmao

Lets just put this on the record here... The CW pipe is the fugliest pipe out there... I am anything but a Termi stalwart (even though I have one) but the Termi looks sooooo much better than this ugly ass piece...

exactly what trauma said. all dynos i have seen the full system with the upmap is not superior to the slip ons. i dont remember where i have seen the graphs but Austin racing has some and somebody else but i dont remember the thread.

He is probably a distributor for it, so just doing his job :)

thats graph is just about up maps so its the wrong one sorry. the other graphs are in the austin racing thread. too tired to go looking through it .

The two Competition Werkes Slip-ons that we had in stock sold within a week:D, it's always a matter of taste.

Somebody told me once that red is just a horrible color for a Ducati:rolleyes:, guess that was just his taste.

If you use a Termi slip-on with the dedicated ECU update for it then the valve can stay in place, it will sit fully open and is no longer functional due to the ECU update. The little guy in the ECU that kept on pressing the button to open and close the valve now lost his job.
With an aftermarket ( non Termi) you should at least disconnect the valve if not remove it complete, otherwise why having a slip-on that get's shocked down by a valve.

Wow!

You guys are harsh today!

Anyhow, no I am not their distributor, in fact we distribute Zard, HP Corse, and Quat D, so if this was a conspiracy/business decision I would have chosen one of them.

Of course by now you guys should know that while Zard may make some of the best Sport Classic and 999 exhausts, QD may make some of the best Hyper and Monster exhausts, HP Corse one of the best Diavel exhausts, and so on, nobody does the best at everything all the time, so you will never see us offer only one choice.

(With the exception of air filters... those MWR Air Filters are 100% unbeatable)

Truth is everyone here at the shop agreed this was the best looking exhaust out for the bike so far (well, I really do like the QD, but I want to keep the pipes under the engine for now).

Yeah I'm a little disappointed it's not a full system, but I certainly like the fact it doesn't cost $4,000+, and who knows, perhaps I'll convert it to a full system later like I did my 1098, but for now I'm really happy to open her up and save the money to put some new wheels, a bitubo shock, and some more carbon on her.

Agreed, but this problem will be solved shortly, I certainly don't mind doing it myself if I have too.

Is $2059 the correct price for the AR stainless system on your website ?
