I am probably breaking a forum rule by not posting a "howdy" as my first post.

I just found this forum and joined up. You guys are a lot more active than the other ones I found.

I plan to head down from St Aug a few times during the event. I would be happy to tag along with one of your groups. That is if you aren't ashamed to be seen with an ugly old streetfighter.

hey brother i love streetfighters! lol. me and my group are leaving jacksonville at about 10am this sunday if you want to join! 904-370-4146

I'm in for Saturday, I'll be on the boat Sunday if it doesn't rain.

shoot me a text if you want. 904-370-4146. got a few people wanting to go down there both days but i really want to see the festivities before everyone is winding down on sunday.

Plan on Saturday, not Sunday. The activities outside of the NASCAR turn 3 area close on Saturday and most people have left by Sunday. Friday night should be the big blow-out of craziness on Main Street.

soooo, my good friend Roberto Vargas races the 200 at one...so i really want to catch that. i have to. but im down to go down early and enjoy a few brews, go watch the race, then enjoy some more brews! anybody down for something like that?

Well, wound up going last Saturday for the day. Unfortunately, I only get small windows to get away due to family and such... I'm very active in my kids lives and I coach both of them in their sports. So I work in rides when I can and ride my 1199 daily on the street.

I probably should not own this bike as I don't push it anywhere near it's limits on the street, but I do enjoy riding it almost daily.

So this year, I wanted to make a day of riding out to Daytona...

Took my brother in-law for his first time and had a blast. 90% the ride, 10% Daytona.

Yes, I agree that Daytona is packed full of goons for bike week, but it's still fun checking it out, seeing all the cool and crazy .... and making a very nice ride over there.

We took the very long way (back roads & small highways) to & from there and put several hundred miles on the bikes that day and several hours in the saddle.

It's the closest that mere mortals like myself can come to antihero's awesomeness.... :)
