Bikeless again.....

Groundhog day! Went to get the bike, died again after 30 miles.

Went back to the shop and pulled the trigger on a 1299. Wasn't going to do it but desperate times I guess....

Thanks!

I'm getting to keep my Ohlins goodies, rearsets ans levers but will loose WSBK replica fairings and ZG windscreen. The dealer actually put a knee down and offered half decent money for the trade-in.

I wish my dealer would have done right by me... Instead I have lost nearly 2 full seasons of riding with mine due to dealer incompetence. It was in to them 4 times for oil leaking issues while I was on the last year of my warranty. The first time it went in, they did an entire motor tear down and took 2 months to complete for no reason other than they were lossing money on the repair so they took "paying customers" over my warranty work.

No surprise... They did a terrible job and I am still chasing the demons of their errors. Between chasing further oil leaks due to them re-using gaskets, seals, coolant, etc. Oh yeah, and then there was that whole water pump wasn't bolted in correctly so I got to figure out why the bike was puking coolant out after every ride.

I tell you one thing... Jarel at Ducati Omaha is THE ONLY reason I still own a Ducati. He has shown that dealers out there with the premium brand still care and have knowledge.... It's too bad he is a 2 day drive away from me otherwise they would become my "local" dealer.

P.S. Good luck with the 1299... Keep an eye out for the gremlins that people are reporting, oh, and make sure you get that Extended Warranty... Just in case.

The folks at my dealership are very good people. The owner is a stand-up guy who rides a lot himself.

It was their first Panigale teardown, so a bit of time was consumed by the learning curve but the service manager called me at least once a week to update me about the latest developpements. The regional service rep was also very helpful and very quick on problem solving.

I had 3 demo rides during the last 6 weeks, a '15 Multi, the 1299 I just bought and a GSX S.

ohhh man, I'm very sorry for you. Hopefully you and your dealer can arange a good deal!!! Is it possible to involve any insurance? 14k$ would mean "totalled" where I live.

No insurance since it's mechanical and covered by warranty. The thing I don't understand is why they couldn't put a new engine in it. Would have saved a lot of money and time.

I got fair market value for my trade-in, something that usually doesn't happen at a dealership.

Wow!
You guys are scaring me, Ducati of North America, Warranty money almost exceeds price of bike, and 1199 breaking down all the time.
Is it just some of the bikes , or are they all prone to malfunctions.
Sure do love the bike so far.

Most of them seem problem free but I recommend to seriously consider an extended warranty.

Impressive stables you got there, congrats!
