as i think the gs is ugly as sin i have no problem with the OP opting for one as thats his type of riding
as far as the M cars go have you ever owned one? what cars are you comparing them too would love to know as the M division of BMW has consistently turned out the best cars for years. i cant even think of an italian or british car that can compete

My daily driver in an Aston Martin N430, my Saturday toy is the new Mclaren 570
I have the new Aston Martin DB 11 on order and will on reciept in December this year order a Vulcan.
I ride the Panegale on Sunday's , and when my mood is like I'm looking to interact with the plod I wheelie my KTM Duke R
My comments that seem to be sensative that German cars have no soul, British cars Do,..and although I do not own an Italian car I'm sure they do as well.
Your comment have I ever owned an M car yes when I was younger and I wanted good reliable performance ....on a tight budget ;)

Just wish to add that the BMW's and the Audis are brilliant cars, and for one I don't mess with the new A6 V10 when I'm cruising, it's a brute!
That being said, the point I was making is that they are just simply bland, perfect in every way ...but they are not going to break knicker elastic at 50 ft are they?
The same as the German bikes are not the ones bieng admired when all bikes are parked at meeting place, the Ducati's are the ones that people take pics of, get there girls to sit on while they snap away.
The GS is fugly just like the RR, IMO and with respect this is the 1299 forum.
Italian super model or Helga who can't shave under her arms where would you rather wake up

Wow, you have some nice cars.

Way off topic - too often the internet is just a place to boast about your stuff. This guy must be in real estate or family business, no one else can write that horribly and have money to burn

M car on a budget lol - proof the ultra rich live in a different world, but they still get old and die

I don't care how rich or poor a man is, or how well his grammar may be.

Judged if he can hang that .... out there and ride with a group of friends and keep up without killing them, in my book. ;)

all i have to say is WOW! (if you haven't test rode one , go do it you will be surprised)
Over the last year the majority of my rides have been touring trips of the
mountains in NC and the Panigale is an amazing motorcycle, but
sadly i think the GSA is the better way to go for now.

Interesting choice.

I have a (long planned) ride coming up in a couple of years (2 months out to west coast and back) and have been debating whether to go ahead with plans to convert my speed triple to a long-distance sport bike or go find a used sport-tour bike like the GS specifically for the trip (selling it once I return).
I know some have done long distance/time touring on the Pani but it's not something I'd attempt for any amount of time.
If your interests have changed to sport-touring then I can see where the BMW GS would be a better choice. Good luck with it.

Great for cruising and going slow.

Fastest guys in our canyon run multistradas.

If you want comfy and actually ride like you stole it, Ducati is still the way to go.

Multiuglies are good as long as the front tyre is new a half worn front and they are unusual on tipping in .
I actually would prefer a bike with a 19 inch front wheel on that sort of bike the feedback from the front is a lot more positive .
I have had and ridden all of these bikes and for me the KTM 1190 is the best touring bike on the market .
The BMW is nice but heavy even moving it is a chore . I did a outback trip on a BMW 1200 GSA and it was a handful but on the long open road it was very comfortable . The BMW have a tendency to use oil as well so be aware of that issue .

.

Not arguing that, its a sick bike. Id love one myself. I need a long distance bike.

And multistradas are fugly, but the HP is sweet.

Me, I'm not a BMW fan at all. Rocky has the 16 1200rs and he loves it, ill let him know, thank you.

Good HP the 1190 really nice motor . Most sports bike guys will like the Multi as it is more similar to their sports bike but the truth is you really need to forget about looks and HP figures and buy the bike that is going to be best for long distance .
The fact is they are all pretty ugly to sports bike guys things to consider are comfort fuel economy size of fuel tank wind protection don't ever be sold on what bike pumps out the biggest HP figures .

I guess I already have a competitive bike with the 1199.

Good point on the 1190, Id be happier in the long run with that for long runs. Were planning across country trip next year, and the 1199 would be brutal.

Just bought a Z06 last week, so it will be a while before I pop for a new bike.

Thanks for correcting my thinking, bud.

I've had seven Corvettes, four of them C6s. My last was the 2009 Z06 I had for three and a half years. Had a lot of fun in that car.

Driven them most of my life working on them, but never owned one, and LS2 is about as high as I made it up the engine ladder, so to speak.

My first crack at a LS7, they still have to put new tires on it. Then ill have a go ;)

I don't trust the valves, so I'm going to get the heads done when the powertrain warranty runs out in 3 months.
