Buy a 1199S -

Hey everyone , I had an opportunity to purchase a 2012 1199S with 500 kms , basically brand new.

I heard 2012 1 st generation had issue's and 2013 /14 was a better bike less seal issues . I'm concerned buying a 500KM bike could be a Lemon because of low kms , I guess this could go either way good or bad .
I can repair my own bike and not concerned of break downs however parts cost have really increased also as this bike ages parts might not be readily available .

Anyone have any advise or first have experience good or bad ?

Bought the 1199S . If anything breaks nothing I can't fix .

Bike has 828 KMS. 2012 1199S

Looks completely stock 800km that’s nice just some one took time to remove engine covers.it’s rare to see those bikes with that low miles/km this days.look nice

That’s a shame ! You have to treat your lady better. To keep a relationship strong I suggest at least a date night once a week! they get upset if you don’t take them out consistently..
 
It just depends really how it was kept . A bike that’s almost a decade old with that low of mileage on it ….. could lead to some issues . Check for mouse .... in the air box , engine area , change oil and all fluids , and filter and check the tires for dry rot . Clutch could have some issues as well from sitting . Take it out for a 200kM ride and get on her and see what happens ….. ( with the understanding that the tires are in road worthily shape first! )
 
Bike is getting a complete fluid flush today and filters .

Going to change exhaust and flash ECU as well.

We bought this bike to ride not be a garage queen .

Who knows if the 1199S has blip shift up and down ?

It should have clutchless up shifts and not downshift. It can be equipped with clutchless downshift( and autoblip) but you have to equip bike with Tuneboy or Brentuning…software.

Tuneboy has Blip ? I have tuneboy on my 1299 , makes insane power .
