its not about bragging rights.. that level of bike is what is it costs... it's a lot but not too much...

and a rider will be faster on the SL by quite some distance... till Jorge, Marc or Troy come flying by on a moped...

You sure do have a nice sense of humor ;)

26 , student, a kid and a 1199? .... damn if living life to the fullest is your goal, you really didn't miss your start, now did you...

Haha... nice one :D

I got all bases covered at a young age, now I can just sit back and watch the show. Haha

The front fairing is wider, it incorporates those Aero wings instead of making them removable options.

Contrary to Trauma's assumption, the SL fairing will in fact fit a base model.

The private site is now public, so anyone who wants to know the facts about the bike can check it out: Ducati | Special Version 1199 Superleggera

It was not an assumption, that is what my dealer told me. I will find out where they got their info, they have been wrong in the past :) They are expecting theirs in April.

So my dealer has already sold their first Superleggera. It was bought by a local surgeon, that currently has a Panigale he rarely rides. When I get some time, I'm going to go down and look it before it leaves the shop.

BTW, the Superleggera has the same wider faring design that the Panigale does with the air foils installed. This also means the fairing won't fit a non-Superleggera Panigale. And, since I have them installed on my fairing, all I need is my Akra and some decals, and I too, will own a Superleggera :D

Are you sure it was the SL and not something else (e.g. aftermarket fairing with the SL/desmo livery)? I just got back from the NYC Motorcycle Show (Javits) and Ducati said that no bikes have been given to any dealers as they are still being made. And he was certain there were none in the US (reiterating that April would be the earliest that we can expect them to show up).

Although you guys love the SL because I do too aren't the buyers a tad bit upset that rumors swore it would be 230 hp at least and now it's 205 hp? .... Still a sick bike still alot of unicorns and no gascharged forks or wsbk termis? Hmmm .... still like it ...

I know Imma get jumped soon ... Lmao bring it on I will use my greatest weapon my IGNORE CANNON

Somebody looking for trouble :D
The overstated HP claims are nothing new with the Ducati marketing department....just look back at previous model announcements. ;)

This is correct. Production has not yet started - no dealer anywhere in the world has one.

Early rumors of hp and weight regarding the Superleggera didn't come from Ducati, they were speculation by the media.

Think it through - what would Ducati have to gain by setting a high expectation, and then not meeting it?

I never said they had it, just that I would go take a picture before the guy picks it up. Their one is already sold, they expect it in April.
