Sweet!!! Fate!!! I am going to get back in the mix as well. Will get a 15R or newer back in the stable soon towards the end of the yr.. One bike for track and the other for street..

the H2 is a beast!

damn that was short lived i for one am sorry to see you back.

seriously though congrats on the sale then the h2, and getting the 1199 back.

lmao, NOLA! I knew you couldn't stay away from this place or a Ducati! Welcome back. At least you know the history of that 1199.

Well goodbye and welcome back. Hope you've been enjoying the adventure with the H2. Funny how your redheaded mistress enticed you back.

Wow, lucky you. I wish I could have bought back my 1199 just b/c I knew the history of it and how much I pampered that bike. But I'll be an early adopter of the next sexy beast Ducati comes out with their superbike.

@b9009b
Thank you !...Glad to be back

@mark419ny
Dont feel so bad, I had to unblock you to read this :)

@cmh210
True, it was mine first. I know everything done to it. Only missed 1,700 miles.

@Twistedracer
Yeah, redhead demon more accurate

@southeastduc
Thanks. I am glad I know the vast majority of the history on this one

NOLA

On a side note....

Did you guys know that Ducati is now offering an extended warranty thru Ducati ? No more third party vendor warranties. When I bought mine back the dealer told me about it. I was the first one to buy one.

3 years of additional factory coverage on everything except wearable items.

That's new to me. So we can buy extended warranties on used bikes now?

From what I understand u can buy an extended warranty up to the day your warranty runs out and it's considered knew. That's what I did but mine was 3rd party

Yeah that's what I was told by my dealer also. Don't think you can buy one after warranty is expired.

Here is a nice learning experience for everyone, including me.

So when I bought the bike back the gentleman I sold it to told me that once he started riding it, it would randomly stall and did it about three times within 1,000 miles. He chose to have the dealership disconnect the RapidBike module as he thought that was the problem. (When he told me about it I rolled my eyes and told him about the "Italian charm" that Ducati's have with randomly stalling)

I rode it for a bit and it had no problems, but damm it was slow. It just didnt seem to have any pep to it, even over 8,000. I assumed it was just because it was apples to oranges to my H2.

So I decide to reconnect it. I spoke to the dealer and they told me it was disconnected fully but the harness was still in place. I knew this was at least partially accurate as I could see the module had the big connector still on it.

Yeah...Standby for this revelation....

I take the fairings off, start looking at the O2 connector wiring, in the ECU bay, and it looks strangely connected. I look all over for the disconnected plugs for the RapidBike and cant find them. I could swear the O2 sensor wiring is still in place. I disconnect everything in the ECU bay and set it all free and look at the TPS plugs and obviously the RapidBike wires are off. I go back to the other side and look at the Crankshaft sensor wires and im positive they are connected to RapidBike, cause its the same plastic wire tie configuration as when it was installed. I look at the battery and its still got the RapidBike power to it.

So.....I realize the dealership didnt disconnect anything but the TPS wire. I am mystified as to how the bike is even running with the O2 and crank sensors still connected to RapidBike and out of the loop of the ECU !

So I reconnect the TPS wires, rewire the ECU bay, put it all back together and say the prayer we all do when we reassemble a bunch of stuff, and fire it up. Starts up really good and hard idle that settles down after a bit. I know the RapidBike is managing the engine now.

Take it for a ride and its like a raped ape, pulls VERY hard.

Interesting experience. Even more interesting that the bike will run with half of the RapidBike disconnected.

Sincere congrats on everything you have sold & acquired for yourself NOLA.
