A mate went down on his 1198S, but sadly work prevented me from heading down.

I know that there's a mixed bag of supporters/detractors out there, but I'm an unashamed Stoner fan :D

No doubt a sensational weekend. Was good on the box but would have been way better in real life

Bass straight grandstand...you can question some of things Casey has said in the media, but you cannot question his talent.....he was the only rider sliding the bike sideways through turn 3. Great weekend.
 
He is just awesome - pure class in a glass!
We had our honeymoon there in 2009 when he smoked everyone on the Ducati and it was unbelievable what he could do with the bike around PI.
He wears his heart on his sleeve and opens his mouth without a care but his riding ability is most definitely unquestionable.
A shame he is retiring as primarily he was the one keeping Lorenzo quiet
 
Pretty much every time someone breaks way ahead and just dominates (Pol Espargaro), I now call it pulling a Stoner :D

Unbelievably, I think he would have had the championship this year if it weren't for his crash and foot.
 
People slammed him for speaking his mind, but to be honest, alot of his gripes I agree with. I used to root for Lorenzo, but his ego has gotten away from him and now he's a tool.

Stoner is an unquestionable talent. He's smart to leave if he's not having any fun, but I will miss watching him ride.
 
^Really? I see the opposite (regarding Lorenzo). I couldn’t stand him when he first entered GP, and think his ego was bigger back then. He seems to have mellowed, and was really nice when I met him a couple years ago.
 
I think more than anything it comes down to me rooting for underdogs. MotoGP as a whole is falling apart to me. 2 races this year, no positions would have changed if not for crashes. The parades are getting REALLY old, and it's always the same 4 at the front. When Lorenzo came in, he was fast, but rode over his head and crashed alot, and I rooted for him to pick it up. Now that he's in 1st/2nd every race...yawn. I want to see Bradl do well, he seems like a good kid. I root for Spies too, but damn, he cant get momentum to save his life.

Yup, I agree. MotoGP has been boring for a while now.

Funny that you mention Bradl. At the Sachsenring round last year I met a German girl who has connections with the show in some form or another. She even showed me pics that she has hanging out with all of the riders. Anyway, I asked her who her favorite and least favorite riders were. She said her least favorite was Bradl. She said he was cocky. Enough that it didn't matter that he was German lol. Anyway, I like the guy and think he's a great rider, regardless.

For next year, I really hope Rossi gets up to speed quickly. Races can be quite good when he's battling up front. Also, it will prevent another JLo and Dani show for the entire year. I'm unsure about Marquez. I know that he'll be in there with Bradl, Crutchlow and Bautista, but if he can trouble the top 3 here and there, it would be nice. As for the Ducati riders, well...

Him too. I was just using a couple of quick examples. I tend to root for the new guys because they come in, have a solid race, but then the learning curve really sinks in regarding how much work it takes to reach consistent results.

Thats funny about Bradl, he seems really humble in interviews, like he's just happy to get the opportunity to ride. Although Spies has been to our local track, and people here swear he's the biggest dbag ever as well.

Marquez is a wild card. He's lucky to get the Factory ride when Bradl had to come in on sattelite. He's crazy aggressive so I look forward to what he's gonna do.
 
GP has gone downhill, with Stoner leaving that's a big hit, Rossi hopefully will make a comeback and spice things up, yet it will still be a small pack up front nothing will really change. I still love GP, but lately I have been watching a lot of Superbike and I have to see the racing is a lot better. That's my .02 cents

+1 that,Lorenzo has matured nicely,he"s got some humility and he"s cool smooth on a bike. I think a lot of the riders came back down to earth after the shock of Marco"s death and it made the guys in the paddock much more tight knit. Shame bout Casey leaving,in qualifying last year at the same track Marco was killed, Casey was going through an S bend spinning the rear wheel to line the bike up for his exit,not a single other rider did the same thing and I watched this through Hi Def slow mo camera,no mistake,the only man that could do it "OUTSTANDING"
