i had my rear linkage set to P when picking up the bike, the ride was flush,
i recently had it change back to F, to experience the difference: the rear is firmer for sure, but i think in a good way, i have better feed back all day long.
im around 170 lbs with full gear.
has anyone done the same? if so what is your thought?

Most are switching to P to get a more comfortable ride. I am one of them. I was tired of losing my fillings on every single bump in the road. Now when I hit the track I'll switch it back to F.

Conclusion, if you prefer it, keep it in F. Ducati recommends riding in F anyways...

i understand stiffer is not better, specially for the road. it was comfy enough for me for 150 miles ride so i want to see the pro and con, Ducati must have included for some good reason.

My dealer wanted $100 to adjust this for me! So, for those that have made the switch themselves, what jack point are you using and how? I don't want to crush my new Termi slip-ons lol

When the tech did the switch, he put the bike on front wheel choke, and use a jack with flat surface and cushion to jack the bike up, as far as I see, contact point was the cushion and the exhausts, hope this help

I put the bike on front and rear pitbulls. Placed a block under the rear wheel so I wouldn't drop the rear wheel. After thought I probably could have done this with the front stand only, but whatever it worked. Then I put a jack under the center of the bike. There is a black cover made of some good solid material there. I used a piece of wood so not to mark up the plate. I jacked the bike up/down as needed and adjusted the tie rod. Pretty simple really. Didn't mark or damage anything.

I must admit I keep thinking about changing mine to 'P' I'm 210 ibs all up and I backed the pre load off front and rear a tiny bit and took a couple of clicks of compression out at the rear and I think it's fine. I was riding down an average road the other day and looked down and the system looked about right as far as its gentle smooth movement was concerned. It rides fine too to me so I think I'll leave it alone.

Suspension is so subjective everyone's different and ride different and wants a different feel, it's good we have so much choice don't you think :)

Change it, then change it back if you aren't satisfied. It's ten minutes worth of work.
...and yeah, it is pretty sweet that we so many choices in suspension.

I just finished changing mine to "P". It took me all of 15 mins and 5 of that was finding the locktight. I can't believe the dealer wanted to charge me an hour's labor for that! What BS. Looking forward to taking her for a ride tomorrow to see the difference.

Curious where you have seen this statement by Ducati Gman? According to manual it states if you were going to be riding any passengers they highly recommend using the "P" position. I know that for a fact since I posted the quote from manual on here before. However, I have never seen anything saying they want the bikes used in the "F" position?

Ok so I changed from F to P on Sunday did 206 miles yesterday evening and yep I prefer P very smooth with a tiny bit of adjustment from stock settings :)

Gunny, there was a service bulletin that I read somewhere on these forums either here or elsewhere that stated to the dealer upon delivery to place it in flat for single rider and progressive when riding a passenger. That is where I am paraphrasing this.
Either way we all know that it's a riders choice as long as the rider sticks by the warnings stated in the owner's manual.

OK, Here it Is
