The rider is not the problem, rules are the problem. The rules favour in-line 4s better compared to V-twins. Twins are down on top speed by around 20kph on the straights and this is why the Panigales are struggling. However, the difference is about 2kph on the straights in the Superstocks making the Panigales shine!
Checa has always been fastest in the twisty sections of different tracks and this shows he is still a class rider.
Hmmmmmmmm.... I agree with you on this regarding the Rules....but Im pretty sure if Sykes, Rea, and the rest of the top 5 fast guys are selected to ride for Ducati..then it would help...sometimes age does matter....
checa is not a bad rider... he went down under the brakes to make up what he loses on the straights... so i gues he must lose patience as the power deficit won't be solved easily... and he's 41 so , time is an issue ...
hayden ran a 1:52.2 in mugello yesterday on the 1199. that during 30 laps only.
that's 0.1 faster than troy bayliss' 1:25.3 during development. (3000 laps?)

Lysdexia.... I'm sure you meant 1:25.2 not the other way which is 26.9 slower and with that time we wouldn't want him on the Pani.
