These images are Pirro's #1 bike and a couple of his Barni Racing team mate. These are Pre-Second Race. These are NOT the wheels and tires they race with. These are the "garage" tires.
Race wheels were heating up in the back.

This is a still from slow motion video. Maybe I’ll upload later. Some fun tidbits.
I have to say the CIV Races have been about 80% more fun to go see than MOTOGP except I’m still a GP fanatic. The access and immediacy is on an intimate level where as MotoGP is quite a bit more distant and siloed. Or Maybe it’s just the champagne showers I miss. ;P

Over heard in the Paddocks between the mechanics:
"Sai perchè Pecco va, tutti Ducati vanno forte quest anno? Perchè, Pirro, ecco perchè. Lui lavora, lavora, lavora. Ha fato tanto."
(You know why Pecco goes so well, why Ducati is kicking ...? Because Pirro that's why. That guy works, & works, & works. He's done a LOT!)

The capped crusader crossed the checkers alone after a decent battle with #2, most of the race, got himself a country mile ahead by last lap.

BTW, I was discussing the other day, the odd insistence to keep a meter.5 of grass along the right of the straight the entire length of the paddock wall, where most going balls-out clip the last edge of it kicking up dust going 360kpm(motogp speeds) cutting over to get a good line under the bridges.
No one I know has an answer. Natural ‘Hazard’ track character I guess.

Going near/over 300kph, this is the fast line, 267EC919-F1A6-48B9-9E42-50671D256C78.jpeg

To get there, clip the grass with half a tire at the last edge of the wall.
😳
I’ve done it many times especially following instructors. It’s one of those questions that comes up at 4AM.
‘Did I really need to do that?‘ Hahahaha
I’ve started taking a different line going right under the ‘O’ of the “MUGELLO CIRCUIT” sign, which is a blind crest. Just past it, is the speed trap at the beginning of the red paint on the RIGHT side where, you should still have the throttle pinned puckering diamonds. Red paint LEFT side is 300 meters to San Donato where it’s a good idea to start think about braking.
I’ve noticed after cresting, if there’s traffic bunching going into turn 1, which you can’t see until you get there, it’s 90% of the time all right. With this more central line, you can blow by 6 bikes all braking too much on the right. Go in later, double apex the 180* turn.

Do you ride in Mugello?
Is a fantastic track, but very fast and the ARRABBIATE, CASANOVA SAVELLI and S.DONATO are scary 🫣!
My main track is Misano.
When I am in Italy, I basically live there ❤️‍🔥

Oh yes. I live near Mugello and ride it a bunch.
I like Misano as well, but I love Mugello. CASANOVA, then ARRABBIATE are my favorite! And yes, Even Rossi is scared at S.DONATO!
Last time I rode Misano - Ho un post al riguardo hahahaa. 🤣
