I changed oil last week and it seems while draining oil some went into the plastic panel just under drain bolt. Not sure what the part is called, tried to picture it. What is the best way of cleaning it out?

I tried removing the bolts/screws but there seems to be more to it for removal

It can dribble a little oil there either when you first take out the bolt or at the end when the last few dribbles don't come out fast enough to clear the lip of the plastic piece.

I use a cotton cloth stuffed up in there to soak up the oil and wipe it down. Haven't had any problems. You won't get much accumulation in there before the errant oil starts overflowing the additional cut outs in the plastic piece. A few minutes wiping around in there with a good absorbent cloth should do the trick for you.

I solved this problem by installing the KraaiTech adaptor, there are some threads on this forum.

Pro: Easy drainage, oil goes directly down. If you have an oil retention pan installed, you don't have to remove exhaust cans before changing oil.

Cons: Oil screw is more exposed.

How does that adapter work with a belly pan? by making a hole in the pan to access the plug?

Do you have a link where your purchased from?

Any tips on getting in there, it's quite tight. Removing doesn't seem to be easy

A thin wall 14mm socket will fit. Either a regular or deep socket will also. If you use a regular, use a 6 inch extension. A wrench will not work.

After you install the plug back, spray some cleaner/degreaser (Windex?) to get rid of the splashed oil and wipe it down.

I can get the bolt out no problem. I was referring to getting in the tray where the oil splashes into while draining. Cant get a rag in there.

Spray it and let it drip off.

The tray is the whole radiator/fan shroud/assembly. It will take a good 1/2 to 1 hour to remove it. Maybe more since you have to remove the side fairings and bellypan. Less when you do it again.
