Clutch Cover Fuel Sticker -- beware!

Hi All,

Just wanted to share a quick story here about the customer service I received from Ducati HQ. The day I brought home my brand new V4 I immediately removed all the frame stickers, reflectors and finally the Shell fuel sticker that comes on top of the clutch cover. To my surprise, when removing the sticker, the gold(ish) powder coating came off with the sticker -- BEWARE as I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.

The dealership here in Vancouver processed a warranty claim as part of the 2 month cosmetic coverage but the claim was declined. They mentioned I should call Ducati North America HQ and so I did just that. I quick chat with a nice young fella named Raymond and a new clutch cover was in the mail. Received it today -- just wanted to share this with you guys as customer service stories like these go a long way.

Way to do the right thing, Ducati -- I'll be a fan for life!

Thanks for the good news story, makes a change.

Interestingly, I leave all the original stickers on the bike, even the weird warning one on the tail section.

Having said that, I also leave the protective films on remote controls and my sonos 5s still have the plastic around them..:D

Just to show... There are two types. Ones that leave all protective covers like you... Or ones that remove "everything" like me. lol

I remember once I got in my friend's new car and started removing the protective covers around the aluminum and plastic trims and he freaked out and got pissed. I can't stand them. Especially the blue ones.

Having said that... I removed all my stickers on my Speciale but curiously enough left the "Shell" and the swing arm stickers intact. I guess I'll just leave it on until it gets worn out.

I take them all off too. Thats awesome the DNA took care of you but thats pretty scary if a simple sticker took off the powder coat.

Oh that is bad. Thought I would just peel that right off and it started coming off in pieces so I stopped. Ugghhh. All the other stickers came off easily. Up yours Shell!

Got mine off with no issues. Just did the old scrape with the fingernails and goo-gone technique:)
