are you kidding?
I see you're a senior member and for that I will show due respect. However, this has to be the most lame excuse for not liking the most revolutionary motorcycle Ducati has produced in decades. Of all the performance issues to choose from, including ergonomics, you choose the most unimportant part of a superbike. I am completely baffled.
I wonder if Hayden, Rossi, Josh hayes, or even Troy Bayliss considered the importance of the kickstand? Of course you could just cut one of those awesome japanese kickstands off and somehow retrofit and weld it on the 1199? Send pics if ya do man! We'd all love to see that and perhaps even follow your lead!
Seriously, do you really own or ride one of your own too?
I swear I saw that under your screen name.
I come from jap bikes and as soon as I saw the 1199 I already spotted something I knew I wouldn't like and it was confirmed in one of the reviews. The kickstand is a pain in the ass to get down. It may not be aesthetically appealing, but I loved the rods that stick out halfway up the kickstands on the jap bikes. Put your heel between the peg and the shifter and you could find the kickstand every time. May not be a big deal to some, but it's one of those things that just makes a bike easier to own.
