Yes that's exactly how I did mine. Race mode prioritizes lap times so I put sport mode in 195hi and problem solved

Cool! I just did 150miles of some newly paved roads with some nice twisties!

Bike in Sport Mode set to 195hi and EBC at 3 was awesome! Front end felt good and it may have been placebo affect, but the engine and throttle felt more raw yet more usable at the same time. #nomore195loforme .

Thanks for the tidbit. See how long the 195hi honeymoon lasts haha.

Have been running race-mode with EBC 1 or OFF until I got the chance to ride a WSTK spec 1198, what a revelation!

The slipper clutch was so effective it made engine braking almost inexistent. Unnerving at first but after a few laps one notices that the chassis stays much more stable under braking with a more predictable turn-in.

Went back to my full Ohlins Base-model Pani and improved my lap times by 1.5 secs on a 2 minute lap just by putting EBC on 3. The bike felt much better on turn-in and mid-corner! The FGT kit took most of the twitch out of the chassis but EBC 3 took care of the rest without spending any money. Left me wondering on how much futher I could have taken the stock forks.

You live and learn:rolleyes:

A lot bikes still meet up for coffee at the old Marcus Dairy Sunday mornings and head north to Dutchess County. Some good roads with no traffic if you pull out of Pannera Bread by 9.

WOW, didn't know that! The closing of Marcus caused a severe shock to my entire nervous system  and I haven't driven down that road my last meal there. Do love Dutchess County! 343 is heaven!!

Thanks! I'll be trying 195hi mode more often on my daily commutes. Do you go to Race Mode or just change the 195lo to 195hi setting in Sport Mode??

I'll also lessened the EBC to I think the highest number which means the lowest setting too. In Sport Mode.

People may differ from me here, but in my opinion there is no difference between the three modes (Wet, Sport, Race) except for the settings and the dash (Race). You can set Sport up to react exactly like Race depending on the settings you have put in and saved and Race to react exactly like Wet if you made the settings the same.

I love two strokes so my EBC has always been set on 3.

:D

Also running EBC 3 and 195hi for several months now, in sport mode. The engine mode felt good straight away (when riding hard especially). The EBC took a little time, I had to learn to brake more, but overall riding feels a lot smoother yet more direct if that makes sense. Also with the EBC in this setting, the throttle in 195hi feels less on/off at lower speeds.

... hit Rt 301 from Carmel to Cold Spring and back a few times...It really does suck there is no convenient race track for us NYC'ers.

Do love Dutchess County! 343 is heaven!!

Sounds good but if you want twisties cross the river to Ulster County and ride the Catskills.

Come over on 199 to 209 to Hurley Mountain Rd take a right on Tongore Rd and then right on 213 North turn left on Krumville and at end turn left and continue on Krumville until your back on 209. Turn right on 209 and turn left on Kyserike Rd to Clove Rd to Mohonk Rd and follow to 299 and stop at Wallkill Farm for food and drink or go into New Paltz to Starbucks where you will probably run into other riders. Once refreshed turn around and do it the other way.

After reading my directions I recognize they are complicated so I am going to upload a video from this weekend. Please note, it is autumn and there are leaves on the road so at times I am riding more cautiously.

DISCLAIMER: I love the Catskills and all my neighbors, I slow down for farms because you never know when a crazy chicken is crossing the road. I respect traffic and ALWAYS pull over if I see police flashing lights. I never try to out run the them, even though I know I can. I show the police respect and so they do the same in return.

Not sure how long I will keep this video live...enjoy!

With my "R" I have Sport mode set up with the same EBC, ABS, DTC as Race mode. The only difference being the suspension settings as in Race mode it is set up stiffer for smoother surface roads. I use both 195 lo in Sport mode and 195 hi in Race mode.

There are roads that require more finite throttle application due to tight technical turns and road irregularities. This is where the 195 lo setting feels better as road imperfections are not transmitted to the throttle as easily allowing me to focus more on the technical aspect of the turns.

195 hi does not feel any faster on any of the roads I ride. I did set up the display in Race mode to a more street friendly application of information. This way I can switch between the 2 different modes easily on the fly depending on road conditions.

**On a side note, I did order up the throttle spacer kit from Ducati Omaha and will give my impressions along with a write up on the install. My biggest complaint has been with the slack in the throttle. I feel it will be easier to blip the throttle for downshifts and allow a smoother release before corner entry while using EBC.

Way to go Connecticut. Way. To. Go. :p

Thanks for the reminder, I have been riding around in sport mode, (195lo) afraid it would be too obnoxious and try to bite my head off in 195hi mode, will try it next time I get a chance :)

Wet mode feels really numb, it's definitely just for when you get caught in slippery rain conditions.

i haven't messed with it enough, but doesn't race mode change the TFT display? I find some of that stuff useful for street riding (clock, etc).

I frankly don't notice a big difference between Sport and Race mode. I notice a little difference but not much. I think the reason is that regardless of which mode I'm in it's all about throttle control. I've never understood why anyone needs Wet mode for instance - just control the throttle. As a disclaimer to that, I do like having different degrees of traction control and ABS intervention depending upon riding conditions, but as far as the Hi/Lo and Wet throttle controls I just don't understand why people can't control that with there wrist.

Are you running a turbocharger? all joking aside the difference couldnt be any more night and day. 195lo requires a full roll of the throttle to unleash power. 195hi requires me to merely communicate with the bike telepathically and said power is delivered. are your sport and race modes set up with the same engine settings? for instance both my sport and race modes are set up in 195hi. its not the mode youre in but the engine setting.

I agree, the difference is just in the throttle - My post #28 from earlier in the thread:

Tried out the 195hi setting this morning on the way to work, not as dramatic a difference as I expected, but it seems less surge-y compared to sport mode, in Sport I'm either accelerating of decelerating, steady was really hard for me.. Not so with the 195hi map, so far I'm a fan.

Side note, got pulled over for 55 in a 35 [stupid race mode ;) ], the officer looked at the bike and said that "55 is really nothing on that thing" and gave me a warning :) we talked about guns for 10 minutes hehe.

get your ebc down to 3 (least intrusive).....thats the best help for anti-surging you'll get - the surging is still there, but ebc off is way too much engine braking - at least thats what has worked for me..

RD16RR set my bike up it much smother and a lot better in the corners.
