Terrible news. Speedy recovery brother. Think of what the new bike will look like and all the upgrades you'll do. Makes time go faster.

get well soon man!!! Back in 09 I was heading west on 72nd between 1st and 2nd. My first Ducati, brand new 848 3 days old. About halfway down the block a towncar pulled a U turn right into me as if i wasnt even there. Got thrown across his hood and my bike landed right on top of me after flipping and flying over the car lol. Havent ridden a motorcycle in the city since other than to get the hell out during non rush hour times. My vespa on the other hand gets a ton of use on surface streets. The number of "close calls" ive had on my vespa that would have been horrible accidents on my ducati make me rethink even riding a vespa around with all these crazy cabs and horrible drivers

so sorry to hear about this! you will mend quickly.

had my first off by a car on june 26th on the belt parkway so i know how upsetting this can be.

hit me if you need anything at all

I have a spare bike for you to ride when you get up and around

get well soon

few years ago i was u-turned into on 14th st and i was far luckier than my totalled Foggy...the whole "sport" is a numbers game and invariably your number does come up....

i watched a doc last night on the Dunlop racing family and while both sons are still racing the father and his brother are both dead...it was certainly a fascinating doc on at very least obstinacy in the face of great risks....

too many idiots on the roads and too many variables....track is the only way to get your two-wheeled jollies off, if u must...

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SURGERY TODAY QQ -- SENDING YOU POSITIVE HEALING VIBES!

Wishing you a speedy recovery brother! Bikes can be replaced, lives cannot.

Awww.... hope you get better soon!
I just got recovered my injury after a hit-and-run accident.

while QQ is having an ORIF at Bellevue; we might as well pour out some more close call stories from NYC

a few yrs back I was bombing through midtown on one of the hardtail choppers that i built (in my 3rd floor walk up!) and was making a left hand turn onto 34 st and a cabby came up on my inside in the middle of the turn and his passenger side mirror clipped my left handle bar and but me into a tank slapper that I miraculously recovered from. I chased this dude all the way down into the west village before i had a chance to get off and give him a "whatfer"... bike was so over heated by then that the gear box wouldn't go into neutral so i stalled it and jumped off at a light before it changed. tried to smash the window on his side but only hurt my elbow (looks so easy in the movies) then I looked down and saw that his door lock was open! I proceeded to open said door and drag mr. cabby out and gave him a traffic lesson that he soon did not forget I am sure. then the bitch of it all is that I flooded the carb when I tried to kick it over to make an escape so I had to push the bike around the corner to get a hiding spot from john law and then made a clean getaway.

You're alive thats all that matters. Best wishes for a speedy recover. Mark and I lost a good friend this past Sunday too. Seems this was a VERY bad summer for bikes in general.

Everyone please ride safe out there.
