get well soon man!!! Back in 09 I was heading west on 72nd between 1st and 2nd. My first Ducati, brand new 848 3 days old. About halfway down the block a towncar pulled a U turn right into me as if i wasnt even there. Got thrown across his hood and my bike landed right on top of me after flipping and flying over the car lol. Havent ridden a motorcycle in the city since other than to get the hell out during non rush hour times. My vespa on the other hand gets a ton of use on surface streets. The number of "close calls" ive had on my vespa that would have been horrible accidents on my ducati make me rethink even riding a vespa around with all these crazy cabs and horrible drivers
few years ago i was u-turned into on 14th st and i was far luckier than my totalled Foggy...the whole "sport" is a numbers game and invariably your number does come up....
i watched a doc last night on the Dunlop racing family and while both sons are still racing the father and his brother are both dead...it was certainly a fascinating doc on at very least obstinacy in the face of great risks....
too many idiots on the roads and too many variables....track is the only way to get your two-wheeled jollies off, if u must...
