Australia D-Air suits and Jackets to Aus

I get all my Dianese gear from italy.

I gave store details to 2 guys i race with and they have brought D-Air suits from same store.
One had accident during the ASBK round here which airbag when off. 2.5 week turn around to italy, which is pretty good.

Great store!
Got my Spidi gloves from them few years ago.
I you are in a country where customs make trouble, deliveries from Italy are less suggested from my experience (my countries customs are a pain in the ars)

Our custons only things which are over $1000AUD. Some items take a week to clear customs.

I had to buy a new pair of gloves and it took 9 days from order to door from italy to Australia. My sprockets from USA took 3.5 weeks.

Italy post ships in a way that 100% of the packages get stopped by customs (in my country)
our customs take VAT from 75USD value packages (including shipping fees), from 300USD value you get a butt plug (48% tax for automotive parts, 30% for textile etc..)

Just the mention of the butt plug will attract a response from PA or his good friend ARSEHAMMER :)

Back to topic.
I like the look of the full Kangaroo Mugello version. Nice and light.

Well now that Australia lets us buy helmets from overseas now, My replacement for next year will be from there.

Ive blown my Misano D-Air , and know one wants to know about it . I purchased it 18 months ago from STG (America) and they were falling over themselves to make the sale . Now that I have tried to return the suit directly to Italy , they are telling me to send it to the retailer , even after I explained where and why I purchased it from the States . The retailer , STG say they cant help me !
Does anyone know what the process actually is , as both parties have failed to explain this ???
Also I noticed that Cassons are listing the 2 air suits in Australia now , wait for it $6000. Might add I still ended up with 4 ribs and a broken collar bone . Perhaps it could have been worse ?

My dealer here in the US explained to me that there are all kinds of liability issues once these suits are shipped outside of the areas they were meant to be sold in. I do know of one local racer that bought his from overseas, then had to ship it back to Italy to be repaired because the US repair center wouldn't touch it.

hmm, this kind of puts a damper on me getting one of these suits as I also had hoped to buy it overseas to save some money and use it here in the US.

how would they know where the suits were meant to be sold? Is there something in the suit's computer programming that says this suit was meant for Italy only or US only?

I'll reach out to the rider and ask. I'm not sure how they would know, other than simply having the suits registered.

The suits have GPS.
It is very inetresting how much data is logged.

Revzilla wouldnt sell Dainese to Australia, so people use to use a address forwarding service. Although I dont know about D-Air stuff but warranty claim on other gear you had to sneak it back via you address forwarding service or Revzilla would crack the ......

My mate has had no worries sending his back to store in italy.

Not every Supplier can repair the system so they need to send them to head offices or even back to Italy in cases anyway.

NB: Ive been talking to Dainese Italy direct about asking if its possible to be a repair agent for D-Air system here.

This morning I talked to the Australian importers and they were really helpful . They will be able to "repack" the suits for Australian customers here. At the moment they are waiting on the repacking kits. I would even fork out for a spare suit if the turn around time is acceptable and the repack doesnt cost to much . Cost of shipping back and forward overseas is not viable. Dainese will be facing alot of competition in the future with this technology.

The Alpinestars version lets you ship the airbag portion back to be recharged, while you can keep the suit and keep wearing it.
