DB Killer / baffle for Akrapovic

Hey guys

The original db killer for the Akrapovic is too short and does not make much difference. Just wondering is there any other db killer option we can get from the market to reduce the noise? Thanks.

Found this on FB, but not sure where I can get this. Any idea?

I dont think a longer one will be possible to fit as the exhaust exit curves sharply towards the end. You mat be able to modify the Akro DB killers, I think they are just stainless.

That pic is of the new akra baffle, I have got it.
Had mine noise tested at Cadwell last Friday and got 108.7db with no baffles.
I put that baffle in and it only dropped to 108.1db. I'm waiting on the baffle for the other side (looks like a conical cheese grater!) to arrive but don't expect it to improve it enough to get down to the required 105db :(

Curious to hear what you think after you get the second one. The stock baffles make almost no difference as far as I can tell.

The "new" akra DB killers for the V4 is oem part number 96481631A, consists of 3 parts, a long db killer for one side and a short db killer and a conical grate for the other side.

I was thinking of taking my stock AKR baffles out. Do you guys think she's be much louder? She's pretty loud now. I pulled them out of my 1299 and holy cow she's loud!

I didn't think there was any noticeable difference at all. Sounds almost the same. Unless the v4 is different.

The V4S is my first Ducati and also my first Akrapovic. Forgive my ignorance, but does my "Race" kit have baffles? If so is there any power to be gained by removing them or just more volume? It's not stupid loud, but I was a bit worried when I saw blue lights directly behind me after I had coasted down from triple digits.

Yayyyy Thanks mate. Do they make much difference?

update on what phil smith wrote me on Facebook:

"
Ha ha, hello Phil, the web site has been under construction I think since it went live lol, just so little time, sorry about that.
Hm difficult to make any of the under belly systems quieter because they are so short, restricting the flow of the exhaust increases the heat and pressure which of course is bad for the motor, more so on track.
I appreciate you thinking of me but it's not really something I would want to get into because of the side effects and possible engine failures."

I know this is an old post, but I am wondering if anyone has direct experience installing this 96481631A kit into the Akra pipes. How does one fit the conical cheese grater part? It must be from the front of the can, no?

I had my dealer install the larger baffles and I can tell you it way nicer to ride. I loved the open pipes but on long rides and riding on the highway at 90 holy hell it was like putting your ears next to the pipes on a dyno pull. It’s like 8k rpms for ever. much nicer with the baffling in.
