Hello all!

I recently spoke with my dealer and they told me not to clean my bike with dawn soap and water (oops i’ve done it twice now). What is the best cleaner and wax for Ducati’s, specifically the V2? Also, should I clean and lube my chain? I’ve read some articles that say not to clean and lube the chain because it’s an o-ring chain. What is everyone’s recommendations? Thank you in advance!

Meguiars cleaner wax, apply it a few times a year and always get compliments on my paint. Just use car wash soap to wash bike, many different opinions on cleaning the chain. I clean my chain about every 1k miles.

Ive been using Adams Polish products for years on my car. I bought my 2020 Ducati Panigale V2 about a month ago, and have been using the same product on the bike...I have to say, it always looks so shiny and clean just using the exterior "detail spray." Even just using their basic products like: car shampoo and detail spray are all you need. They are inexpensive and always have sales and coupons. Give them a shot...oh, and don't forget to use your favorite chain cleaner and lube when you wash your bike.

Dawn soap is an old detailers trick to remove old wax and polish, it strips the paint bare...not a good idea to do long term if your not gonna follow up with sealer/wax.

Just get a car shampoo and you'll be fine.

Exactly!

And what's more is that dish soap will eventually strip the very thin clearcoat on the fairings, exposing paint to sun and the elements. I wax with Optimum spray wax (any polymer based wax will do) followed up by a sealer like Zaino "Grand Finale"...it repels everything. I'll wipe down road grime periodically with a waterless product like Poorboy's Spray & Wipe or other quick detailer.

I own a detailing company. Grab some Adam's Soap. And P&S Beadmaker as a drying agent. Grab Jescar sealant.

For wheels, I really like Adam's wheel cleaner.

This is a effective way with not needing many products.

+1 for Zaino products. I've been using them for years on my cars and it is amazing how easy they are to clean with their car wash/soap. The dirt just rolls off after I applied the polish + accelerator.
I did the 5 hour polish session once or twice a year. Looks showroom clean. I also would use Chemical Guys soap when I ran out of Zaino (can't buy it in stores).
