Who else here was waiting for their SF848 stateside? (pre-orders specifically)
--begin quote-- Regulations for classification of imports into North America has changed at the beginning of the year. This automatically classified our motorcycles as Hazardous Materials due to the battery acid being shipped with the motorcycles. We have since found a solution to work around this and we have already seen some improvements but this has not yet been fully resolved.
Customs inspections have gone from 4% to over 40% of our receipts this year. In one case this has caused a three week delay to over 400 units in February. We have worked with customs to determine if there are any specific issues and have been advised that this was routine inspection and we expect no further problems.
Bologna has suffered the worst snowstorm on record in February. Suppliers, truckers and factory workers were literally brought to a halt. Getting the production lines back on schedule took longer than anticipated thus causing unforeseen delays in shipments. The situation is now fully stabilized at the factory and the sun is shining over Bologna making for a very welcome early spring.
Production of some of the new models have experienced delays due to both suppliers and new assembly processes. This specifically affected the 1199 Panigale and the Streetfighter 848.
All of the above issues are now either solved on very close to a definite solution. In order to provide you with clear information on arrivals of new product we have created a table that shows first deliveries planned by week for the next couple of months. Please find this table in the complete bulletin posted in the DCS. This should assist you in the communication to your customers of first arrivals. We are planning for consistent deliveries weekly following these dates. Please note that these will be delivered in order of priority of pre-sold units as noted in the dealer manual.--end quote--
