My bike currently has 9300km on the clock. Full Akro system was fitted was fitted by Ducati dealer on 1000km service. A few days ago whilst riding the moto started making one hell of noise. My initial thought was that either the exhaust had cracked, a connection had come loose or the header had broken off at one of the ports. Upon closer inspection I noticed the Lambda sensor had ejected itself from the rear header. The thread on the sensor is completely stripped (see attached photo) which begs the question...why did this happen??
Has anybody experienced anything similar?
Has anybody any insight as to what caused those threads to get so damaged?
lastly, does anybody know where is good place to shop for a replacement?
My local dealer (South Africa) quoted me over 5.5k / $300
