so ive seen threads about different size tyres, but i was wondering if anyone has tried a different brand, or knows of a brand that sells a good set of the 200/55's. Ive seen that Avon and michelin both have sets, but i know the Avons say they are for cruisers. Im just looking for a meatier center, as this bike is my toy along with my daily driver. Any suggestions/tips?

Michelin Pilot Power 2CT is a good dual compound that will have much traction but a harder centerline, I think they make the size for the Pani. I currently have Pirelli Angels on mine (supposedly a tour tire) for some beefy tread for cold months, they are working great (a bit more sentivive with the traction control, which is fine with me for cold riding)

i was looking at a touring tyre from where i bought the bike. i think im going to try the new tyre with the traction control off and play with the settings. i still havent ridden it too hard. i apparently have an issue looking through right hand turns. had it since the accident i had in february, soooo looking for anyone to help me out with that hahaha

Search the forum... The only other 200/55 options are the DOT racing tires... I run Michelin power CUPs and One's.

200/50 is a shorter tire, so not a good choice for a bike that came stock with a 200/55, that would slow down the handling. You can only be assured the traction control will work optimally with the Pirelli Supercorsa tires unfortunately, the DTC system is mapped not only to the size of tire but also the slip-thrust ratio of that particular tire and rubber compound. If you find another tire in 200/55 size it's not like the DTC system won't work at all, but it will either kick in inappropriately if the slip-thrust ratio is higher than the Pirellis, or it will not kick in when it should if the slip-thrust ratio is lower. It would be most noticeable on hard corner exits on the track or really aggressive street riding, for anything less than that it may not be as much of an issue.

OK. i talked to a friend and he was saying that if it comes down to me really wanting to switch tires, run without the DTC and just bump to a 190/55

A response from Dunlop customer support said they plan on releasing the Q2 in 200/55 fairly soon but obviously would not commit to a date.

Stick to the recommended tire size of 200.55/17. You can switch to any brand like Metzeler's Racetek, Michelin Power Cup or the Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa Sc2's or simply stick to the replacement - original equipment Pirelli Diablo SuperCorsa SP's.

Either way...these are all 200.55/17 rear race tires...dont shift to anything less or different tire sizes like 190.55's, 200.50's etc...
