I have very limited working knowledge of high tech electronic systems. I would like to reduce or eliminate the low rpm, low load jerkiness and generally smooth out the power delivery on my 1299. I have been told the stock fuel map is optimised for emissions and to make you feel as if the bike has grunt, not necessarily ideal for performance.

Is it possible to diy it by buying the right tuning software (if thats possible) or would I be better to spend a grand letting an expert do it, whats the best way to proceed?
Cheers

Paul

There are a ton of options on here, just do a quick search for “tuning”

I myself have been looking at them recently..

There are piggyback options like the Rapid Bike

And there are ECU Flashing options .. Tuneboy, BrenTuning, Etc..

Based on my usage I’m leaning towards BrenTuning’s solution; as I’m not looking for any BIG power increases but improvement in overall ride ability , and delivery of the power I do Have plus a little more..

there are lots of aftermarket tune options to help you out: Rapidbike, Tuneboy, BrenTuning. Do a search on the forum for each of them to find out more about each.

Happy to help with any tuning you need for the bike, give me a call or shoot me an email, contact info is listed in my signature.

I've installed TuneBoy + Cruise and couldn't be happier. I commute on the bike every day in city traffic and it's super smooth, take it the track a few times per year and it flies. The cruise control is so good.
