Did a burnout today and all type of lights popped on... To make it worst my DTC, EBC and ABS are all offline. And WTF is up with this "speed sensor" warning:eek:, I've gotten my bike up to 180mph without seeing that. FML:confused::confused::confused:

Rear wheel, there is a ring which has many slots in it; the speed sensor reads impulses from that wheel. You might not be able to get to the bolt which holds it on w/o moving the eccentric hub. There are a number of shims that hold it a set distance from the slotted wheel, technically called the "REAR PHONIC WHEEL". My bike had three of them, just make it a point not to loose them.

I'd clean it off, check it for defects, same with the phonic wheel. Check connector and wiring.

Its part 14 in the 1199 parts manual on page 128/148.

"Known Issue"... when doing burnout on a Panigale.

Like it's been said... Speed sensor covered in rubber!

methinks warranty issues will be in your future after this post. :D

Hope you get it sorted!

It isn't a problem, the ecu just gets confused because the front wheel isn't moving and the rear is.

Just turn the bike off for afew mintues then back on again and the error goes away :)

This issue also happens on the dyno

Bikes been off all night, I'm going to crank it up and see if it reset itself if not I'll unplug the battery.

Thx!!

I've had similar warnings appear due to dirt interfering with the sensor. A good wash fixed it for me.
